Comedian Andy Lee has shared the hilarious story of how his comedy partner Hamish Blake accidentally got an 'offensive' tattoo on his arm.

Lee, 43, revealed that Blake, 42, decided to get the iconic Olympic Games rings inked onto his upper arm because they represented greatness - without realising how 'offensive' it could be.

'Hamish got the Olympic rings tattooed on him to inspire him with greatness,' Andy told 9Entertainment.

Lee added Hamish later discovered that many actual Olympic Athletes get the rings tattooed to mark their achievements - and were not happy after discovering Blake did so without ever competing.

'He didn't realise how offensive that is to actual Olympians. A lot haven't been that pleased since finding out that on meeting Hamish.

'Obviously a lot of Olympians get tattoos of the rings as a sign of their achievements.'

Lee added that fortunately Hamish could truthfully say he had been to the Olympics - if only to watch the athletes compete.

In 2021, Hamish told Andy the side-splitting backstory of another one of his tattoos.

The TV star was a guest on pal Andy Lee's quiz show The Hundred when he was encouraged to explain what one very questionable tattoo depicted.

'Unfortunately it does look a bit like a snake resting on a penis,' he said of two squiggly lines inked on his left arm.

The Lego Masters host clarified that that wasn't actually what was drawn on his arm.

'We went through a period on our radio show where we started a band, and because I was the drummer I allowed Andy and Jack [Post] to each tattoo one stick on my arm.'

Next to the drumsticks were stick figure portraits of Andy and Jack.

However the funnyman was adamant he had no regrets about the very basic inkings on his arm.
