And Victoria and David Beckham used their Instagram platforms to poke fun at each other's outfit choices on Sunday, during a lavish family getaway to the French Riviera - where they met up with Elton John and his family and ensured to share a sneak peak into their holiday.

After David, 44, jokingly criticised Victoria's very extravagant boating attire, she saw her opportunity to get her own back by posting a picture to Instagram of her husband sleeping in a bold Versace shirt.

Posting a snap of his glamorous wife wearing an ethereal white gown while enjoying an afternoon at sea on a luxury vessel, David captioned the snap 'I mean come on really. Boat wear @victoriabeckham Style.'

Following David's dig, Victoria, 45, used her own social media presence to seek her playful revenge, as she later shared a picture of David sleeping wearing the showstopping shirt, while lying on seemingly coordinated bed linen. 

Although he is a point of reference for men's style all over the globe, David appeared to have taken a leaf out of Elton John's book, as he rocked the elaborate shirt while spending time with the singer's family.

David is currently enjoying a lavish getaway in the south of France with his wife, and their four children Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 14, and Harper Seven, eight.

During the afternoon the Beckham boys got to show off their wakeboarding skills, as David shared snippets of his sons in action as they rode the wake at the back of the boat with impressive prowess.

Luxury living: To accompany the delicious goods, the group sipped on a bottle of dry rose, which Victoria admitted she doesn't usually go for, but enjoyed very much all the same - revealing it was 'super nice'

After working up an appetite the two families headed for a 'chic' lunch together were they showed off the fresh produce that they were about to tuck into during their leisurely meal.

David also indulged in a glass of his own-brand tipple, Haig Club whiskey, as he shared a picture of him himself holding up a glass of the alcoholic beverage on his Instagram Stories. 

It wasn't first time the family have spent the August Bank Holiday on Elton's yacht, as they also marked the occasion last year on the liner. 

The pictures painted the Beckhams as every inch the picture-perfect family, as they shared smiling selfies and snippets of their activity-filled day.
