Ryan Reynolds acquires ownership stake in low-price wireless carrier Mint Mobile and jokes he'll pay himself $15 a month
He acquired a stake in Aviation American Gin last year and stars in ads for the liquor.
And now Ryan Reynolds is expanding his business portfolio with an ownership stake in budget wireless carrier Mint Mobile.
In a statement announcing the news, the actor, 43, said: 'Celebrities generally invest in high-end products like skincare brands or delicious gin companies.'
'Yet Mint is making wireless way more affordable at a time when the average American is paying 65 dollars a month,' he said. 'I'm excited to champion a more practical approach to the most essential technology.'

The Deadpool star also tweeted about his new venture, joking that he'll be paying himself $15 a month, the same amount that Mint Mobile charges for its base plan.
The low-price wireless service was launched in 2016 offering prepaid mobile plans on the T-Mobile cellular network.
Last month, it began operating as an independent company.
Reynolds will be involved in the company's 'strategic decision making' as well as in marketing and communications.

It's been a busy time for the Canadian actor.
He and wife Blake Lively recently welcomed their third child, a sister for their daughters James, who turns five next month, and Inez, three.
On November 16, he turned out to support Michael J. Fox's fundraiser A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's in New York City.
The following day, he and Lively bumped into Mariah Carey and her twins Monroe and Moroccan with the the singer sharing a photo of the five of them - including her son wearing a Deadpool mask, to her Instagram.
And this past Saturday, he made an appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live, joining castmembers Alex Moffat and Colin Jost. Jost is engaged to Reynolds' first wife Scarlett Johansson.
Reynolds will next be seen in Netflix's action adventure 6 underground directed by Michael Bay and premiering on the streaming service on December 13.
