Urgent chicken recall across America due to deadly listeria contamination - is it in YOUR freezer?

An urgent recall has been issued for chicken products across the country after a deadly listeria contamination was detected.
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) recalled 2,000 pounds of chicken kebabs and patties on Friday after a routine inspection found the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes at the producer's facility.
The bacteria can cause listeriosis that can be fatal to the elderly, young children and the immunocompromised.
The potentially infected items include Al Safa Halal Charcoal Grilled Chicken Seekh Kebab Grilled, Minced, Chicken Patty Kebab with the best before date 'NOV 30 25' and product number '0605404' printed on a sticker on the outside of the package.
Al Safa Halal Fully Cooked Chicken Chapli Kebab Seasoned Chicken Patty have also been recalled. The effected kebab products have 'NOV 30 25' and '0605416' printed on the package.

The frozen chicken products were prepared in Canada on June 5 before being imported to the US later last month.
FSIS urges consumers to dispose of the products or return them to stores for a refund.
'FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers' freezers,' the agency said in the recall statement.
'Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.'
No illness is yet to have been reported in association with the recall.
Listeriosis symptoms may last from days to several weeks and vary depending on the severity of the illness.
Some people with more minor symptoms may experiences a fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, according to the FDA notice.
If the infection is more severe patients can experience a headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
Any consumers who have consumed the product and are experiencing symptoms is urged to seek medical attention.
A mass recall of salmon products was also issued last month over fears of a listeria contamination.

Foppen Seafood's Smoked Norwegian Salmon Slices were recalled from some supermarkets by the company after listeria monocytogenes was found in their lot during routine testing.
The products were sold at Payless and Kroger supermarkets in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia, according to the FDA.
And earlier this month, health officials warned that more than 40 types of bagged spinach contained listeria.
New York-based Solata Foods LLC has recalled seven brands of its nine-ounce 'Fresh Spinach' bags because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the bacteria that causes listeria.
