  • For our final intern spotlight, we’re excited to highlight Cole Halbert, a senior at UCLA studying Economics. This summer, Cole is interning with our Private Real Estate team in our California office, where he brings his innovative ideas and strong analytical background to our projects. Cole's contributions have already made a significant impact, and we eagerly anticipate the continued value he will bring. Read on below to learn more about Cole: 1. What is the best piece of professional advice you have ever received? The best advice in my career is the importance of prioritizing quality and accuracy in my work. While it can be crucial to finish things quickly, it is better to get it right the first time than to have to go back and fix a mistake. This advice has helped me establish dependability and create opportunities to be trusted with more responsibility in any job. 2. What are you looking forward to at CenterSquare? So far, my experience at CenterSquare has been everything I hoped for - I have worked on a lot of interesting projects and met great people. I am looking forward to going to Conshohocken at the end of the summer for the intern farewell event and meeting everyone in person! 3. How do you stay updated on industry trends and developments, and how has this knowledge impacted your work? I like to read relevant articles from the Wall Street Journal, publications from the big real estate companies and research firms, and CRE Analysts on LinkedIn. I also try to listen in on all conversations in the office about real estate and macroeconomics. Staying informed gives me a better perspective on the work I am doing and helps me make more educated decisions. 4. As a child, what career did you want to have when you “grew up?” I always wanted to be a professional athlete in the NBA, NFL, or MLB. Technically, I can still declare for the draft until I graduate from college, so I can keep dreaming that I have a chance. 5. What is at the top of your bucket list? I want to do the “SoCal Challenge” of surfing and snowboarding in the same day. #CenterSquare #SummerInternship #Spotlight

  • Lineage, the world’s largest operator of #ColdStorage warehouses, raised the largest #IPO of 2024 with its $4.4 billion #REIT initial public offering. Congratulations to CEO Greg Lehmkuhl and team, as well as Kevin Marchetti and Adam Forste from Bay Grove, who founded the company with their first acquisition in 2008. We’ve had the privilege to partner with this team over the past 4 years in their journey, first as a private company, and are continuing to invest alongside the now public #REIT, trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker LINE. The IPO was managed by a consortium of major financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, JPMorganChase and Wells Fargo, and Lead financial advisor KKR Capital Markets Holdings LP . Thank you to Chad Burkhardt, Patrick Wilson, CFA and the rest of CenterSquare Investment Management’s team for their hard work and dedication in making our first investment in 2020, on behalf of our clients. #CenterSquare #LineageLogistics #IPO #ColdStorage #MorganStanley #GoldmanSachs #BankofAmerica #JPMorgan #WellsFargo #KKR #Nasdaq #logistics #supplychain

  • This week, we are thrilled to introduce William Vandiver, a rising junior at Trinity College majoring in Political Science and minoring in Behavioral Finance. This summer, William is interning with our Legal team, contributing his analytical skills and enthusiasm for the field to our ongoing projects. We look forward to the fresh perspectives William will bring and the impact he will have during his time with us. Continue reading to learn more about William: 1. How do you approach personal growth and continuous learning? I approach growth and personal development by acting like a sponge when I'm around others. I love learning from people's experiences and perspectives and applying their lessons to my day-to-day. 2. What's the most significant lesson you've learned thus far, and how has it impacted you? The most valuable lesson I've learned so far in my life is the importance of developing good habits, eliminating bad ones, and the value of consistency. 3. What are your top three productivity tips for a successful workday? My three productivity tips for a successful day are to schedule out my responsibilities, cut out distractions, and focus on each task individually rather than multitask. 4. As a child, what career did you want to have when you “grew up?” When I was young, I wanted to be a marine biologist because of Shark Week. 5. What is something that brings you joy? Spending time with friends and family brings me the most joy. #CenterSquare #SummerInternship #Spotlight

  • Today, we’re excited to spotlight John Carroll, a Capital Markets intern and rising senior at Clemson University, majoring in Financial Management with an emphasis in Real Estate. This summer, John is working with our Capital Markets team, contributing his analytical skills and passion for finance to our research and sales efforts. In his short time at CenterSquare, John has already made a significant impact, and we look forward to seeing his continued contributions. Read on to learn more about John. 1. What is the best piece of professional advice you have ever received? The best piece of professional advice I have received is stay committed to doing your best work consistently, whether or not anyone is watching. 2. What is your greatest professional/academic accomplishment thus far? One of my most significant professional accomplishments to date has been the establishment of my boat detailing company. I partnered with local marinas and boating clubs to conduct my business. I hired and trained a team to assist me with the operations. Building and leading the company was a great experience and very fulfilling. 3. If you could share some advice with your younger self, what would it be? If I could share some advice with my younger self, it would be to take risks. Embrace failures and use them as opportunities to grow and develop. Strive for your goals and never be afraid of the outcomes. 4. What is at the top of your bucket list? A goal of mine is to get a pilot’s license. Last year I participated in a demo flight which sparked my interest in aerospace. Soaring through the sky at 10,000 feet and being the one in control of the aircraft felt surreal. 5. If you could try something knowing you would not fail, what would it be? I would want to travel through a black hole. I have read many theories that black holes could potentially allow time travel into the future and or the past. Also, some black holes could be linked to different regions of the universe. If I were to travel through a black hole, I could potentially unlock one of sciences biggest mysteries. #CenterSquare #SummerInternship #Spotlight

  • This week, we’re excited to introduce Daniel Law, a rising sophomore at Georgetown University, majoring in Government with a Pre-Law track. This summer, Daniel is interning with our Legal team, bringing his keen interest in law to support our projects. We look forward to seeing the positive impact Daniel will make during his time with us. 1. What is the best professional advice you have ever received? The best professional advice I’ve tried to adhere to is to be open to growth and change. In both my academic and professional lives, I strive to make the necessary adjustments to succeed to the best of my ability. While I like working under a schedule, I have learned to be willing to make changes when needed. It has made a huge difference for me. 2. What are you looking forward to at CenterSquare? During my time at CenterSquare, I’m looking forward to familiarizing myself with real estate law. Being able to scrutinize unfamiliar documents, grapple with dense legalese, and understand the day-to-day cycle of a business lawyer feels incredibly helpful in deciding which aspects of legal practice I enjoy. I believe that legal familiarity—with the workloads, methods, and lingo—will be a crucial early step in my professional development as I pursue a career in this field or elsewhere. 3. What inspired you to pursue a career in your current field of study? I have always been enamored with the idea of studying law. After all, it is (quite literally) in my name. The experience that truly sold me on committing to a pre-law track was my time on, and eventually captaining, my high school’s mock trial team. Poring over the intricate details of a case to develop a tight defense or offense was exhilarating and provided great exposure to legal concepts. I experienced the thrills of law from Philadelphia’s Municipal Courts to Dauphin County Courthouse in Harrisburg for the state tournament. Mock trial also introduced me to countless lawyers, law students, and professors who served as advisors, coaches, and judges over four years of competition, introducing me to many outstanding figures who have greatly benefited my professional and academic life. Ultimately, whether my future takes me to real estate law, litigation, or elsewhere, I’ll owe a lot of my inspiration to my experience in the high school mock trial circuit. 4. If you could trade jobs with any fictional character for a day, who would it be and why? I would love to take over for Harvey Specter from Suits for a day. While I have yet to graduate from Harvard Law School, I think I could do a pretty good job handling his cases for him. It would certainly be interesting. 5. As a child, what career did you want to have when you “grew up”? When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming an actor, which led me to doing shows throughout high school. Though that dream has petered out, I still hope to bring some of those theatrical skills to my professional career. #CenterSquare #SummerInternship #Spotlight
