The Russo Brothers’ ‘The Electric State’ Cast Just Got Flashier

Giancarlo Esposito, Ke Huy Quan, Billy Bob Thornton and Anthony Mackie are taking on robots.
    Nov. 2, 2022

The Russo brothers’ summer spy thriller The Gray Man was a star-studded affair, and their next project will continue to roll out the red carpet. The Electric State welcomes Giancarlo Esposito and Ke Huy Quan to the cast, starring alongside the previously announced Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci and Jason Alexander. Billy Bob Thornton and Anthony Mackie will also join Brian Cox and Jenny Slate in voice roles.

Set in a retro-futuristic past, the sci-fi adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel follows Michelle (Brown), an orphaned teenager who traverses the American West in search of her younger brother. Joining her on the journey is a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter.
