Santa’s on his way a little early this year. And who’s that driving his sleigh? Why, it’s Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray, stars of The Merry Gentlemen, a new romantic comedy heating things up this holiday season. You’ll have to wait a little longer to unwrap this particular gift, but that’s OK; this sizzling Christmas entertainment is worth waiting for.

Directed by Peter Sullivan (Secret Obsession) and written by Marla Sokoloff (Sweet On You), The Merry Gentlemen is the story of a musical revue to save Christmas, and you’re invited to join the audience. Below, we have your playbill for the show. Make sure to pick up some hot cocoa in the lobby.

What’s The Merry Gentlemen about?

To save her parents’ small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.

“My character Ashley has been a successful Broadway dancer for her entire adult career, she returns to her hometown and is faced with figuring out what she wants for her future, while also reinventing her parents’ local business,” Robertson tells Tudum about her role. Always drawn to heartwarming stories, she became a fan of holiday movies as an adult. “I love being able to surround myself with friends and family, decorate a Christmas tree, cook fresh baked goods and celebrate our lives together,” she says.” Being able to bring my favorite people together to watch a holiday movie helps me to appreciate the most important things in life.”

“Luke is kind, confident and slightly sarcastic. He works as a contractor helping out the family who owns a bar named the Rhythm Room. He’s thrust into an unfamiliar situation and is pushed to the limits of comfortability,” Murray adds. “Holiday movies bring so many of us the peace and calm we love to enjoy over the holidays. These films bring us together and give us adventures to enjoy as a family.”

“I’m my best self during Christmastime,” Sokoloff, who also stars in the films, says. Watching holiday movies with my family… nothing makes me happier.”

As for what you can look forward to once the film hits Netflix…  “The costumes are going to be the highlight for me,” she continues. “So many fun themes and moments. I can’t wait to see it all come together!”
