2024 Highlights

Body

SAMHSA thanks you for a fantastic National Prevention Week 2024! Our events and activities this May 12-18 celebrated the possibility of prevention and communities helping to promote the world we want to see—where prevention helps keep people and communities healthy and safe.

This National Prevention Week, SAMHSA was thrilled to host virtual activities and events:

Let’s carry the momentum forward!

  • Be sure to share photos and videos from your events and spread the good news of prevention using the hashtag #NationalPreventionWeek24 on social media.
  • Amplify the power of prevention by sharing your #MyPreventionStory! Whether it’s how you’re helping to prevent substance use or taking steps toward better mental health, every journey is unique. Your story can inspire change! All types of stories are welcome in any format, including videos, photographs, artwork, poems, and written stories. We hope you’ll share your story in whichever medium feels most authentic to you. Learn how you can create your story or help others create their stories.
  • We recognize that prevention happens every day, not just during the second week of May. As such, SAMHSA created a new, ongoing virtual series to showcase, elevate, and celebrate prevention organizations that are creating positive social impact, fostering collaboration, and effectively responding to the changing substance use landscape. Stay tuned for our upcoming virtual series activities and events!

Thank YOU for making National Prevention Week a success. We can’t wait for next year!
