Acceptable resolution

I purchased this warranty in Nov of 23. I never received a policy. When I needed to use it I only had my cc stmnt to verify the company and phone. I nerver received anything from SHW, I called on Sun 7/28 10:51am to have an A/C repaired. I got a recording saying No one was available and would be contacted within 24 hrs. I then contacted a repair man. I had guests in the condo and it was 97 degrees outside. The repair man repaired the unit. It needed a new blower motor. SHW called me at 11:28am telling me someoe was schedueled to come out on 7/31.
I informed them I had already had the repair done. I was told to submit the receipt and it would be reviewed. I received a call today denying the claim. Reason; it had not been approved. No one was around to answer a call nor was I informed it needed to be approved as I had no policy and no one answered their 24 hr claim dept. I received a call today saying they would either refund 5.5 yrs of my payment or pay the invoice I submitted. I opted to stay with them and receive payment. I was also offered a mngr email and phone for future claims.

WARNING! Don't get there product

WARNING!! Do not use this warranty company. They will try to void any warranty work. Finally after many emails, photos and showing that the item is covered under there warranty policy they sent they still have yet to approve. The electric outlet in my hall is covered under electrical but they don't want to pay. So my Amex card has disputed the contract and I was refunded due to them not honoring the contract. Have all your emails and phone calls to dispute there shady business practices for I was informed this is standard practice for this company

Talked to Darrell Canada today for a…

Talked to Darrell Canada today for a quote on home and auto. Although the company was not able to provide a home quote in FL, and the auto insurance quote was a bit higher than anticipated… he was a wonderful representative. Knowledgeable, considerate and helpful.
Darrell is a great asset to your company! He said would still keep looking a bit for lower rates and let me know. That is so wonderful!

Paid for the policy for a year in…

Paid for the policy for a year in advance. Was told that it they could not repair it, they would replace it. Called in a non functional dishwasher.Tech came out and I paid 65 dollar service call. Tech said he would contact select with the information for the part number and it should arrive in 3-5 days. A week went by, so I called. First I was told that the installer was given the approval and they would call the installer to see what the delay was. The next day I received a letter stating that they were buying out my claim due to depreciation on the dishwasher. They offered me 100 dollars and with the 65 I gave the tech, that leaves me with 35 dollars to get a new dishwasher. Repair or replace= false advertising. Repeated attempts to reach them have gone unanswered and they refuse to let you talk to a supervisor. In fact, I was told tonight that the rep had been instructed to not discuss my case with me. RUN away from all the website recommending the. If you check the Better Business Bureau, treating customers this way is their way!!!

Seniors only policy!

While I’ve just signed up and haven’t had to do any repairs yet I’m very excited that when the sales agent, Sol, learned I’m a senior he offered me a great seniors only policy which was hundreds less per year with same benefits PLUS free roof protection! My rate is locked in for 6 years, is extendable and transferable if I move. Great experience signing up!

Had an issue with my dryer door not…

Had an issue with my dryer door not staying shut. The issue was the striker or latch which cost $12 on Amazon. They sent tech out and I paid my &65 deductible. He said he would order parts and they'd take about 4 day to come in. Called tech after 5 days, he said some nonsense. Turns out he never called the issue in to Select Home Warranty. I called them and while on the phone, I get email stating I was given $150 towards replacement. My dryer was valued at $150. Remember, my dryer works perfectly, the door latch is loose. What dryer can you get for $150. All the reps are in India or Pakistan. Took forever to cancel service. SHW IS AWFUL. DON'T USE AT ALL. Horrible experience. Then they wanted me yo find a tech, pay the tech and they'd reimburse me. Shiiiiit.

Most worthless home warranty company…

Most worthless home warranty company ever! SHW is the 4th home warranty company I’ve used so far and I’ve never had any issues with the others. So I can say with certainty SHW is terrible. They take forever to do anything with your claims, just to have them say that due to fine print they won’t actually cover anything. Their customer support is all in India and are not actually authorized to do anything to help you. Their system is mostly automated so stuff gets lost and the online portal isn’t helpful at all. Save yourself some time and frustration by going with a different company.

De-Select Home Warranty

On 4/26/2024 we purchased a 5 year warranty with Select Home Warranty, set to begin on 5/20/2024. On 6/25/2024, a claim was filed regarding an error message on our dishwasher which was not draining. On 7/1/2024, Select sent out a technician from a local repair shop and determined the issue was covered under the warranty policy. The technician ordered the necessary parts. The parts were received on 7/10/2024 and installed on 7/18/2024. On 7/19/2024, Select was informed that the repairs did not correct the issue, the same error code was being displayed and the dishwasher was not draining. Select failed to send out a technician or return any calls until 7/29/2024. On 7/29/2024, a technician was scheduled to visit but did not show up. Select was again asked to send out a technician from a different company, as the one initially provided was not returning calls to us and Select. On 8/1/2024, Select was contacted again and asked to send a technician from a different company, as the initial company was still not responding to either party. The initial technician arrived the same day, with no notice, and diagnosed the issue as a faulty control board. However since Select had already changed the service company, a new diagnosis is needed. As of 8/8, they have not scheduled a new visit and are unresponsive to calls.

The person on the phone was very…Fair minded

The person on the phone was very responsive. She gave feedback to let me know that she understood my problem. She was forthcoming in how she would handle the situation by immediately putting forth my situation to the party that would address the situation. She was very fair minded.

Even though the end result was good

Even though the end result was good, I had a hard time understanding the person I was speaking with. Both seemed to be very professional. However, I have not received any paperwork including e-mail what my policy covers. I asked that I receive an e-mail identifying that data and did receive an e-mail thanking me for choosing your company, however, I still have not received anything that tells me what is covered. I officially request I receive that information shortly. Thanks.

This company is a total scam

This company is a total scam! They were high pressure sales when I purchased it wanting me to pay for 5 years upfront. I told the sales guy NO I needed to see how they were before paying that far in advance! Thank god I did. They are horrible! I will be switching to another company. I needed my garbage disposal fixed or replaced. They just said get it repaired and we will send you a check for 75.00!! That's it! Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scammers!!!

SHW IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE-ORIENTED. THEY COLLECT YOUR MONEY AND PROVIDE YOU WITH OVERSEAS ASSISTANCE. WHO READ FROM A SCRIPT AND IS UNABLE TO RESOLVE ANY ISSUES, I PROCESSED MY CLAIM AS INDICATED BY REPRESENTATIVE AND SUBMITTED MY COPY OF PAID INVOICE ON 6/26 AND STILL HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY REIMBURSEMENT CHECK. IF THE REP ADMITTED THE ERROR ON SHW PART (INCORRECT CODING) I STILL HAVE TO WAIT, HE SAID FOR THE "STANDARD PROCESSING TIME" - WELL WE HAVE PASSED THAT TIME AND YET NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS BECAUSE OF "THEIR CODING ERROR" - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND NO SUPERVISOR FOR ESCALATION.

Changed to Select Home Warranty

I was not happy with my prior Home Warranty company because they took sometimes 2 or more weeks to assign a repair service. I decided to change to Select because I can use my own repair service (when approved) and can limit my coverage to major systems (my appliances are all new and I don't need additional insurance for them). The Select rep made signing up easy and answered all my questions. I have not had to use the service yet.

1st time using Select Home Warranty

Hi, I called but an answer machine mention to initiate a claim I must go to the Select Home warranty web page.
Then I search in my computer and initiate the claim, was easy you only have your model and serial number of the appliance to repair and provide a brief description of the failure. the repair company reach me after 20 minutes asking for 3 options to schedule the visit to repair the oven in my home.

I received a quote online and I…got an exceptional employee.

I received a quote online and I followed up with a call and reached an awesome young man named Johnathan. I have never had a home warranty before, even though I’ve been a homeowner for over 55 years, therefore I was a little apprehensive. I had a few questions to ask Johnathan and he was extremely patient and was extraordinarily well versed on the service and pricing. He explained everything fully without seeming to be in a hurry and your company is very lucky to have such an employee. I talk with employees at call centers all over the world on a regular basis and I have to say that he is by far one of the best. I thank him for taking the call and if I had a company I would not hesitate to employ him. Donna Caillet

Easy to renew with a longer

Easy to renew with a longer, and better, rate. Other companies bombarded us with daily emails and unsolicited phone calls, SHW simply sent us a message to call my rep to renew at my convenience.

A Platinum Level Home Warranty Plan with Select Home Warranty

I spoke with Ryan tonight about a new home warranty plan with Select Home Warranty. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions regarding what's covered and what isn't. I had already done a lot of online research before calling another company and Select, so I already knew I wanted a Complete Home Coverage plan and not just for appliances. The Select Platinum Care plan is what I was discussing with Ryan.

They are very competitive, especially with their $75 service call fee! Most others are $100-$150. By offering to give me 2 months free, I got 14 months for the price of 12. Ryan offered to see if he could give an even better discount if I called back after speaking with competitor companies. He kept his word and gave me another $50 discount off the 14 month plan! Although their Labor Warranty is only good for 90 days at a time, their low $75 Service call rate still makes it worth it!
