On Time, friendly and eager to help.

The guys were on time, even early, but they weren't in a company truck or had any signage or clothing to show who they were. I wasn't sure at 1st who they were. The Guys however were super nice, answered all my questions, were friendly & gave off the impression they wanted to help. I contacted the service agent that they booked to explain the issue & request they come prepared with the appropriate parts otherwise most times it will become a multi-visit repair & you'll be without your appliance for a day or even longer, this "hack" is very important. This is what I tried to do to help them out & make the process smooth.

The garage door representative that…

The garage door representative that came to fix my door opener, ended up having to replace the whole thing, new motor, track and all. He was very polite, knew his job and did it well. I am very pleased and I would like to have him fix my garage door opener any time. He is a good representative for your company.

Very stressful dealing with Choice Home

Want to experience an endless not-so-merry-go-round in fixing a home problem? Try creating a claim with Choice. We struggled 3 weeks trying to get Choice Home to fix an AC unit. A competent AC repairman gave up in disgust when Choice refused to pay his reasonable bid. We wound up cancelling our contract with Choice, and paid cash to the same man. He did an outstanding job at a much lower price than the company that actually installed the unit. Dealing with Choice Home Warranty is very frustrating. So glad we cancelled.

Claim

Once I was able to make my claim, everything was on autopilot. They scheduled the work and notified me of when they would be there. Then rescheduled and rescheduled again, but once I contacted the company, everything was so smooth and the work was done within minutes without any issues.

Stay Away. Highway Robbery.

I would give them zero stars if possible. They sent a technician, who collected $65, took some photos and left, Did not show up to make the repair, so I contacted CHW. They denied the claim for some ridiculous reason. I appealed, but never heard back from them. I consider the to be thieves, so I went online to read the reviews, or better described as horrible stories. They have been reported to the AGs in many states for their unscrupulous practices. We dropped them immediately.

I had a good experiece when i contact choice for a fost time, the representstive ( Aaron) wad kind, patience and provided the information i request. Very happy with my decision to chose choice, looking forward to work with this company to take care of my home needs.

Robert was a big help easy to understand and explained everything really well. I was recommended by a realtor so I was just waiting for our first year with the builder warranty to be up and received excellent service

Just signed up for the Choice Home…

Just signed up for the Choice Home warranty program. Easy straight forward process with a veterans discount. Price is reasonable for the coverage provided and got a locked in rate for 5yrs with one yr free a total of 6yrs coverage. Will know more if/when I have a claim. Warranty also transferable if I sell the home, another plus.

Poor Customer Service

Our air conditioning has been out since July 2nd. We did not have a technician at our home until July 12th.
After evaluating and finding out our compressor is bad, CHW wants to charge us $1100.00 for uncovered costs for the compressor change after waiting 10 days for someone to show up. I am now waiting on someone to set up an appointment to discuss these extra charges that CHW is asking me to pay.......and my air conditioning is still not fixed. Very unsatisfied with the customer service and attention to our problem.

The stove was the problem

The electrician was very nice and respectable, He looked at the stove and was amazed the last person had left the stove unattached in the back and had to go get screws out of his truck. He took the electric box off & checked it and since I had had it replaced when I put the air conditioner in. He assured me nothing is wrong with the box so if it happens again the stove is the problem and needs replaced.

The service rep was professional…


The service rep was professional ,courteous and friendly. He showed up on time and after looking at issue, he explained what needed to be done to correct problem. I am pleased with the service.

The electricity came on after the…

The electricity came on after the visit, but we plugged in the vacuum cleaner just now and it tripped again and it won't reset in the main. Pls send him back and investigate what causes the tripping thank you

I love having a house warranty

I love having a house warranty as I feel relieved if something breaks, I can get help. My AC repair went great but my bathroom exhaust was not so well. I would have never hired that technician for myself. Very unprofessional. Also not impressed that several months ago I talked to someone & he was so nice to help me with the costs of my premium since I’m on social security limited income, then my premium & service call fee went up without notice & it should have stayed the same for the year after he reduced it.

Responsive

They are responsive once work order is submitted. Sometimes it takes time for a vendor to take the job and I am not sure if that is because it is the city I am in and they do not have enough vendors to take the jobs or what.

CHW is God Aweful!

Choice Home Warranty (CHW) is good at two things... selling policies, and denying claims. Everything, and I do mean everything in the policy is geared to making it easier to deny claims. The normal wear & tear exclusion is the best, because it's not defined in the contract, and the person that gets to determine if a failure is a result of wear & tear is the technician who is hired and paid for by CHW. Also, anyone that actually knows what they're doing won't touch warranty work, so the only technicians you'll see are the ones who have no idea what their doing. Do not... I repeat, do NOT sign a contract with CHW (or any warranty company for that matter).

Old fridge...great outcome!

I had my doubts about CHW and this was my first appliance that failed since I purchased the home warranty from CHW, but this went just as the online
form said. I reported the problem, filled in the online form, they found me a tech to come and diagnose the problem, the tech from Sears came about a week later, found the issue, called CHW, they did a little back and forth, when the tech got off the phone, told us he didn't think that CHW would pay because the unit was so old, but about an hour after he left he called and told me he'd got a message that said CHW was going to cover it. It will be paid through a Lowe's gift card, which means I'll probably have to buy a new unit from Lowe's. This is fine, because I went online and found a fridge of comparable size at Lowe's for a fraction of what I'd pay full price for. All good!

Prompt and Helpful

We contacted Choice about an emergency situation concerning our side-by-side refrigerator/freezer unit on Friday after 4th of July. We were blessed to have a young man at our home the following Monday to asses and to give us his professional recommendation. We should have our fridge up and running in another week!

My Review

The employees at Choice Home Warranty are very helpful, friendly and polite. The problem I have is with the timeline that it takes to get anything done! It took me a month to get my air conditioning repaired. 2 days ago I also made a claim for a plumbing issue, no hot water, and still have not heard from a vendor with regard to when they will come out to check the issue. I feel like issues should be repaired much quicker!

Washing machine repair

Thought the timer went out on my Maytag washing machine, but it turned out to be the drain pump. I'm satisfied with the work that was completed, however, when I turned in the claim, it took a week to get a technician to my home.
