That is a ridiculous question.

Can I ask,

who wrote these things? Who wrote that one?

Who wrote yes or no? We have had enough.

Hi, I'm- Hi.

Hi.

I'm Joey King.

I'm Nicole Kidman.

That's so true, and- We're here with Vogue.

We are here with Vogue,

and we're doing Off the Cuff

questions. 'Cause that's just

[Both] The kinda gals we are.

Nicole? Get to it.

I'm so thrilled to sit with you.

Round one. Yeah.

Icebreakers.

My first question, Nicole, when did we first meet?

On set,

no, no, in the rehearsal.

Oh, I thought you might remember.

Oh no [chuckling]! We met, no, no, no,

we did meet in rehearsal,

we met in Richard's office,

and you were wearing this gorgeous, like, linen pant,

and a really beautiful top- But that's the rehearsal,

that's still rehearsal. Yeah.

I thought you were saying

I didn't remember, oh. I was agreeing with you,

I was saying I thought you'd remember

and I was- Woo!

What was your first impression of me?

I love that question. [Nicole laughing]

No, that's not- Let's talk about me.

My question was

conceited too. That's my Miss Piggy.

My first impression of you,

well- Yeah, good, what's next?

You are the worst, you never let me finish a compliment,

you cut me off every time.

When I met Nicole I had such an amazing idea

of who she was going to be,

'cause I was such a fan of hers, of course and.

When you love someone so much

and you just know like the concept of them,

not them personally, you have no idea what to expect,

but she was so, I always thought Nicole was so angelic.

Best person ever, the nicest person,

the funniest, most talented, all right, I'm done,

you can relax now.

Nicole, what are you listening to right now, music wise?

Billie Eilish. Ooh, love.

I love that she dropped the whole album.

Me too, what she- Loved it.

I love the whole album,

very, very much so. Um-hm, yeah, yeah.

And the, just discovering,

it's my album now of the summer,

so that's, that. Love that.

But I'm also listening to

Keith's album HIGH. Oh lovely.

Which has not dropped yet,

doesn't come out until September.

Okay, husband plug,

love that. Yeah, 'cause we've both

got husbands. Yes we do.

Let's give your husband a plug.

Yes, we should, Steven,

love you baby. [Joey blowing a kiss]

[both laughing]

What's an item you would never leave

the house without, Joey?

I never leave the house without Claritin,

but I do love a good eye drop too,

that's gonna, I don't know, I feeling like

I'm all pharmaceutical- You're very pharmaceutically

inclined here. Okay, so my mother...

Give us a lip gloss

or something. Instilled in me,

I carry a big bag full of

supplies. Pharmaceuticals.

Yes, for the day.

I always have peppermint pills

in case I get a stomachache. Oh, oh.

I always have,

I never leave the house- Good tip.

Without LACTAID, I never leave the house,

that's what it is. Good to know.

Ooh, here's a nice one,

I like this one. Okay.

What's a sound or a sensation,

hear the alliteration,

What's a sound or a sensation you love?

What's that A-S? ASMR?

I love the sound of a hairbrush through hair,

especially if I'm not doing it myself,

if I'm getting my hair done,

and a hairbrush- Yeah.

Is running through my hair.

Especially one of those bristly,

like- [Nicole making hmm sounds]

[shhhh] I'm like, it gives me

the tingles. I'm feeling it now.

I love that feeling so much. Yeah.

I'm like, it feels like a warm hug.

Yeah. Yeah, I love that sound.

Sensation wise- That is...

It's kind of a similar thing,

it's both of the sound

and sensation. I'm taking that

as a sensation.

Nicole, I've got the opposite question for you.

Yeah. What's a sound or sensation

that bothers you?

Nails down a chalkboard.

Like I'm one of, I'm just the classic,

isn't that a classic?

But another sensation I love, put your arm out,

is this. The best sensation...

Awesome. Ever when you have someone

tickle your arm a little bit. Right in the,

yeah, in that spot,

but right aahh. Yeah [laughing].

Okay.

Fill in the blank if you don't like, blah,

we can't be friends.

Nicole Kidman. Oh.

If you don't like Nicole Kidman

we can't be friends, sorry.

Sometimes I wish, blank?

Sometimes I wish

I could fly.

Sometimes I wish all hotels had bidets.

I don't think I've ever wished for a bidet.

Really? No.

You're missing out,

are you kidding me? I'm so not European, right?

What was the strangest audition experience?

I auditioned for Fargo

and I wore a wig because I was bald,

and then I realized I forgot to tell them

I was wearing a wig in the audition,

'cause my head was so like lumpy and weird

'cause it was like a really bad,

it was a costume wig basically,

then I doubled down, I was like, oh my god,

they really hate me 'cause they think I've got a weird head

and I wound up getting the part,

which was wonderful. Of course.

That was a very strange audition

'cause I was so self-conscious and itchy

and my head had a wig on it and I was bald underneath,

it was a lot, a lot of things going on.

Okay, round two,

career questions. Oh, we're into round two,

yeah. We're into round two.

What's something you've learned about yourself,

or your craft, when making Family Affair?

I learned that comedy- Quickly!

Oh my god [laughing].

I learned that comedy is really, I mean,

comedy is very hard, it's true,

but it's super fun, and it's really, really fun

when you're able to do it with people

who are super non-judgmental

and so welcoming and accepting.

So I learned meet your heroes

because it works out. Perfect.

And that's you.

Okay, Nicole.

Family Affair

is the first- Yeah.

Romantic comedy you've done in seven years,

why now? What was the one

seven years ago?

They didn't brief me

on this part. Oh, okay, I'm not sure.

Why now?

Because I needed to have a lightness of being

because I'd come off a number of roles

that were very, very heavy. Very heavy.

And for my sanity I went,

I need to make something about love

and I need to have hope

and I need to- Yep.

I need to have some fun.

Amazing answer.

If you could send your 10-year-old self

one message from the future,

what would that be?

You got to meet Zac Efron, you did,

and you got to work with him,

and you're not married to him,

but you are so happy to be his friend

and it's great. [Nicole laughing]

Favorite advice- Yeah.

You give to young actors, hello.

Never give up. Okay.

Keep at it.

Read a lot.

Find out who you are,

and do not deny the things that make you different,

embrace them.

Love. Favorite costume

from one of your films?

Bullet Train. Bullet Train.

Bullet Train I had

a really cool costume. Yeah.

It was like this very innocent little girl type,

like school girl- Yeah.

All pink outfit. Yeah.

I was an assassin. Yeah.

I loved that. That was great.

Who is someone you'd love to collaborate with

in the future?

Isabelle Huppert. Uh, love Isabelle.

Um-hm. Okay, good.

Obsessed.

Do you remember what you wore

on your first ever red carpet?

God, I've had some really bad red carpets,

good god! Haven't we all.

Honestly, I don't remember my first,

but one of my firsts,

was like I was in a movie called,

Horton Hears a Who! What?

I was in that movie, it was a animated movie called,

Horton Hears a Who! with Jim Carrey,

the elephant movie. Oh wow, yes, yes!

I was in that, and I wore a cute little like,

I think it was from Gymboree,

a polka dot little dress,

and my mom did my hair

in pigtails. Oh baby, baby!

I know.

And speaking of round three, fashion questions.

[Joey laughing]

Nicole, a wardrobe piece, or souvenir you've kept,

or wish you kept, from one of your films?

I wish I kept the pink feathers

from Moulin Rouge. I thought you

would say that. Cause they're so beautiful.

I wish I kept the glasses from, Eyes Wide Shut,

everything- All this stuff.

And I keep nothing. You don't?

No. Oh.

Terrible, but I do keep all my couture dresses.

Tell me, where is this from?

Hmm. Oh, I know

where that's from. Oh?

I do, that is my dress in,

We Were the Lucky Ones in the opening,

the moment where we see me

with my partner- Yes.

For the first time.

Tell me where this is from, Nicole?

Oh, there it is,

by the way. Oh yeah, there it is.

Answer, tell me where this is from?

Birth. Uh, what [laughing]?

Okay, Expats. It's not from,

I think it's from Expats.

And this, Nicole, I mean, come on,

oh wait, I wait, wait- And this?

This one?

[Joey laughing]

Wait, no, you first, and this one?

Uh, To Die For. Yes, very good,

and here's the image. At least I passed something.

[indistinct] One of my favorite [smooching].

And this, and this?

I went to Cannes recently and that's my little

peekaboo keyhole in the back of the dress

that I was wearing. Good Lord.

[light jazz music]

Lightening round, round- This is like,

it's very stressful. Round four.

Vogue, you're meant to not be

so stressful. I know, are you having...

Okay, salty or sweet? I think I'm scared.

Salty or sweet? What, what, what?

Salty or sweet? Sweet.

Coffee or matcha? Both.

I literally have both, a coffee and then a matcha.

I love it. Thank you.

She can't be labeled. Thank you.

Country Music Awards or Academy Awards?

Sorry, Academy Awards,

I mean not sorry, Huh!

I mean, sorry Keith, I guess.

Oh! Oh wait,

we are asking- Okay.

Each other the wrong ones. Oh god, Country Music Awards

or Academy Awards? So yeah,

that's your question.

Both. Both.

Yeah, we mess up,

okay, sorry. I started asking

the questions from me to her,

which is kind of interesting. But I actually thought

it was the, we messed up. I'm a lefthanded

lateral creature

so that's what we're gonna do. Are you left-handed too?

That's what we're gonna do. Yeah.

I'm left-handed too. Yeah.

Oh my god. See.

Oh my god, okay.

Theater or film?

Okay, I'm just gonna say both to everything

'cause I'm not a big- Nicole, it's a game

of choosing. No, I will not choose.

You have to. I've had enough,

I'm not choosing. I swear to god.

Early bird or night owl?

Early bird. Next, inside or outside?

Don't say both.

Outside. Okay.

Yesterday or tomorrow?

Oh, that's kinda nice, yesterday.

What about now? Nope.

My answer's- Not on there.

Come on. Nope.

My answer's- Not on there.

I thought you were gonna- You gave me a hard time,

what's your answer- But I thought you were

gonna say like, ah- Yesterday or tomorrow?

That's so, tomorrow.

Yes or no?

What? Depends.

Depends, no, you can't,

now you can't do that

'cause you made- Of course.

You gave me grief. That is a

ridiculous question, can I ask

who wrote these things? Who wrote that one?

Who wrote yes or no? We have had enough.

Nicole and I- Naughty or nice?

Now I'm making up my own. Yeah, better question

than yes or no? Yeah.

Naughty. Yeah, thank you.

Naughty? Absolutely!

Absolutely!

Trick or treat?

Okay, I'm done.

I had- Trick and treat.

A great time sitting here with the one and only,

Nicole Kidman,

answering questions that- The one and only Joey King.

We're not to sure if we loved all of them,

but we had a good time. Nope, we have now,

we are protesting.

Thank you Vogue for having us. Thank you Vogue.

We love you. For having us.

I know you'll never have us back, but hey,

it was fun while it lasted. Please have us back.

[cards thumping on table] Please have us back

we had so much fun.

Love you, watch our movie, please, thank you.

[Nicole blowing kisses]

[light jazz music]

[light jazz music continues]
