A woman who was duped by serial sperm donor Jonathan Jacob Meijer into having one of his children has revealed she sued him after discovering he had fathered hundreds of children.

Jonathan Jacob Meijer, a 42-year-old musician from the Netherlands, is estimated to have donated sperm on a mass, unregulated scale and ultimately fathered between 550 and 600 children.

Eva, from the Netherlands, decided to take legal action against the Youtuber in April last year, arguing that his actions have increased the risk of incest among his offspring.

The shocking sperm donor scandal is at the heart of a new docuseries on Netflix, which is set to premiere on Wednesday July 3 at 8am.

The Man With 1000 Kids will investigate the 'murky world of the fertility industry,' as well as how the Youtuber defrauded dozens of parents and thirteen clinics around the world.

The three-part docuseries features interviews with a number of parents who are still grappling with the repercussions of Meijer's actions, as well as the lawyer, fertility activist, and medical professional who work to try and stop him.

Despite beginning his fathering spree in 2007 - resulting in 375 children living in the Netherlands, 80 in Germany, 35 in Belgium, four in Argentina, and two in Australia - the serial donor is still donating sperm

In April last year, he was ordered to stop donating sperm to prospective parents, or face a fine of €100,000 (£88,000) per infraction.

The decision came after a civil case was started by a foundation representing the interests of donor children and Dutch parents who had used Mr Meijer as a donor.

A Dutch court argued that Mr Meijer's continued donations violated the right to a private life of his donor children, whose ability to form romantic relationships are hampered by fears of accidental incest and inbreeding.

Such fears have also been echoed by Eva, a Dutch woman at the centre of the court case who had a child by Meijer in 2018.

She revealed how it 'made her feel sick to her stomach' when she found out that he had fathered so many other children.

Eva said: 'If I had known he had already fathered more than 100 children I would never have chosen him. If I think about the consequences this could have for my child I am sick to my stomach.

'Many mothers have told him he needs to stop, but nothing helps. So going to court is the only option I have to protect my child.'

Eva and the Donorkind Foundation wanted to stop Meijer donating and to find out exactly which clinics he has donated sperm to. They accused Meijer of 'lying' to hundreds of women about the number of children he has fathered.

Eva said she also wanted all his sperm still in storage to be destroyed, unless it has been reserved for a woman who already has one of his children.

Last year, when asked by German media why he wants so many kids, Meijer replied: 'I want to do something meaningful with my life.' He added: 'Yes, I lied to the women. That was wrong. I wanted to help them.'

The Man With 1000 Kids premieres on Netflix on Wednesday July 3 at 8am.

It comes as an Australian mother who has five children from the same sperm donor father has discovered that he could have fathered as many as 1,000 children.
