EXCLUSIVELos Angeles coffee shop sparks a viral FRENZY over its South Korean-style drinks - as desperate customers line up for over an HOUR to lay their hands on 'the world's best' lattes

A boutique coffee chain from South Korea has taken Los Angeles by storm since opening its first U.S. location.

Camel Coffee opened in Silver Lake in May and has quickly become a viral sensation, with influencers and coffee lovers alike flooding the 2,000-square-foot space to get a taste of the 'secret' Korean concoction.

Owner Alice Kim told DailyMail.com that lines to get into the store regularly snaked around the block and hadn't slowed since opening day - with some people waiting up to two hours on busy weekends to get inside.

Camel has even attracted celebrity customers, including Billie Eilish's brother Finneas O'Connell and his influencer girlfriend, Claudia Sulewski.

TikTok has been flooded with foodies and content creators gushing about the Korean coffee sensation - with many saying it's the best coffee they've ever had.

'People in L.A. are waiting up to an hour in line for allegedly the best coffee and matcha from South Korea,' food influencer Daniel Preda said in a viral post.

'It's perfect, this is the perfect coffee,' he gushed after trying the brand's signature Camel Coffee.

'That might be one of the best coffees I've had in Los Angeles, period,' he added.

Fellow influencer Janie Devours had similar feedback, rating the store's Camel Latte a '12 out of 10.'

'Camel Coffee definitely lived up to the hype for me - I would definitely go out of my way to come back,' she told her 131,000 followers.

While the eatery serves a variety of coffees and pastries, it's best known for its two signature drinks - the Camel Coffee and the Camel Latte.

The Camel Coffee is a double espresso shot with milk, topped off with a sweet proprietary cream and ice in a small glass.

Unlike regular iced coffees, the Camel Coffee is designed to be sipped - and customers are specifically instructed NOT to stir it.

'Our eight ounce flat white, some people are kind of like, "Whoa, it's so small." But we ratio it. We weigh out all the milks by grams because we want our coffee to be consistent,' Alice explained.

'And we try to explain to customers all the time at the register that it's still a two-shot espresso, it'll still get you wired, it's just with less milk because we really want you to taste that espresso.'

Customers are then told to sip the Camel Coffee so it can be 'enjoyed in layers,' beginning with the sweet, creamy layer on top.

Adding to the uniqueness, the cream is made in store by Alice herself, who was handed the recipe from Korean Camel Coffee founder 'Mr. Camel.'

'Only I make our house cream, so I come in every morning before we open,' Alice said.

'All our syrups are made in house as well, so we make our vanilla syrup in house, and for our Camel Latte we also make the orange syrup,' she said.

'The South Korean team came in and trained us on exactly how to make the drinks.'

The store's other signature drink is their iced Camel Latte, which is similar to a regular iced latte, but with a chocolate and orange syrup on the bottom.

It also comes served with a thin slice of orange on top.

Alice's husband Joshua Park is Camel's operations manager, and together the pair have a team of baristas working under them.

The couple were inspired to bring the chain to the U.S. after trying Camel Coffee during a visit to South Korea.

While they expected the store to do well in a hipster neighborhood like Silver Lake, which is known for its good food and coffee, Alice admits that the reception has exceeded their expectations.

'We knew that because Camel is already known in Korea that there would be a little attention, but the amount of attention we've received has been overwhelming and we're so grateful for the support,' she said.

'We've been shocked because we literally just passed the two-month mark.'

While there's often long lines on the weekends and around lunchtime, Alice said that people who didn't want to wait should come in the morning or later in the afternoon before closing time.

'We love when people can just chill here because that's what we envisioned. We want it to be a safe space,' she said.

Camel Coffee currently has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, where coffee lovers have been gushing about the store - although some have complained about the weekend wait times.
