Aristocrat Clemmie Dugdale, 31, strips down to her bridal lingerie at her wedding to film director Orson Oblowitz - before smashing up and eating the cake

The daughter of Third Baronet Sir William Dugdale walked down the aisle this weekend in a grand ceremony attended by the cream of high society - and apparently got spliced in her underwear.

Friends have shared snaps from actress Clemmie Dugdale's weekend nuptials to film director Orson Oblowitz that show her posing up a storm in bridal lingerie during the couple's reception - believed to be at the family seat of Merevale Hall in Warwickshire.

The 31-year-old aristocrat, who regularly shares snaps of her avant garde life with her Instagram followers, also didn't reach for a knife when cutting the cake - she simply smashed into it decadently, before feeding it to herself with her hands in front of cheering guests.

Dugdale's friend Bella Somerset, daughter of the Duke of Beaufort, shared a photo of the bride online in the aftermath of the cake smashing. 'More eccentric wedding attire,' she wrote.

Fashion stylist Mimi Wade also shared footage of the bride destroying the lavish chocolate cake, with her husband leaning in to try and stop her...and failing.

The groom, dressed in a sharp black suit with a country and western style bolo tie, is seen pleading with Ms Dugdale not to destroy the cake but she digs in anyway.

On her own Instagram account, the bride shared a video of the bridal full photoshoot; she's seen posing in a grand house in her lingerie for a professional wedding photographer.

At one point, a guest walks into the room before making a quick about turn.

Clemmie is an actor by trade, or as her Instagram profile reads: 'Borderline attention seeker but really talented.' She's since added the line too: 'Marriage material'.

She's starred in a raft of movies, most recently last year's Showdown at the Grand with 90s action man Dolph Lundgren.

Her new husband has an equally idiosyncratic online profile.

The bio on his webpage (written in the third person) reads: 'The only point of this website is to convince people to give him [Orson] work so he can afford more tattoos and feed Margarita, his pet chihuahua.'

The LA director is best known for his films The Queen of Hollywood Blvd (2017), God Bless America (2011) and The Five Rules of Success (2020). His father is South African filmmaker Michael Oblowitz.

Meanwhile, Clemmie's father is Sir William Matthew Stratford Dugdale, born in 1959, who is the Third Baronet.

He inherited the title from his father Sir William Dugdale, David Cameron's uncle, who died in 2014.

Colourful behaviour clearly runs in the family; Sir William, a former jockey and racing driver, was described following his death as libidinous and boozing - who earned the Military Cross during World War II for extraordinary courage under fire.

Nicknamed Sir Bill, he was a former Aston Villa chairman and left the bulk of his estate in trust for his second wife Cylla, his six children and their descendants.

Sir Bill had four children from his first marriage to Lady Belinda Pleydell-Bouverie, who died of cancer in 1961, and a further two with Cylla.

The Eton-educated Dugdale helped Margaret Thatcher defeat the unions and became a household name in the Seventies, as chairman of Aston Villa when the club won the First Division and the European Cup.

He famously banned Scottish supporters from the club’s terraces, after a riot during a friendly match against Rangers.

The former Prime Minister and his brother Alexander were close to their uncle as boys, and spent weekends shooting rabbits on his estate and attending Aston Villa matches with him.

Sir Bill was praised by Mr Cameron after his death, who ended questions abruptly after a major immigration speech to make sure he would not be late for his uncle’s funeral.

He said at the time: ‘I’ve got to go to the funeral of a much-loved relative, a man who fought at Monte Cassino, landed on the beaches of Anzio, rode a horse in the Grand National and was chairman of the world’s greatest football club, Aston Villa.

'So I don’t want to dishonour him by being late.’
