And the latest twist drink going viral on social media is a proffee - a fusion of coffee and protein - which is made when people add a scoop of flavoured protein powder to their espresso.
Some people believe combining protein with the caffeine in your morning brew boosts weight loss and improves workouts.
Often served over ice, the coffee trend has gone viral with more than 300,00 people using the hashtag #proffee on TikTok, while 80,000 have done the same on Instagram.
Made in a variety of ways, the creamy coffee is perfect for those who want to add a high protein twist to their morning coffee, especially if they tend to skip breakfast.
Many creative online foodies have shared how they make the drink, including adding a shot of espresso to a pre-made protein drink.
Caffeine, a natural stimulant can improve your muscles' contractions and resistance to fatigue while adding protein to your diet can helps your muscles recover after exercising.
Protein also helps people to feel fuller for longer as it the body burns more calories while digesting it.
Health experts have given the drink the go ahead, but warned foodies to be careful of adding too many sugary syrups.
Simon Jurkiw, Performance Nutritionist at sports and active nutrition brand bulk told FEMAIL: 'We're obsessing over this trend at bulk – what better way to upgrade your morning coffee than by combining it with a deliciously flavoured protein?

It comes after Costa launched a range of protein-infused drinks in January.
Putting a twist on a classic latte the Latte+ range includes three drinks that are vegan friendly and are flavoured and contain dairy-alternative option, but also includes added sources of either vitamin B12 and Zinc or protein.
