Roy Keane claims England captain Harry Kane is 'obviously' injured and 'doesn't look the sharpest' - as he gives his verdict on whether Gareth Southgate should have dropped him for tonight's crucial semi-final

Roy Keane has claimed that Harry Kane is 'obviously' injured and 'doesn't look his sharpest' ahead of England's huge semi-final against the Netherlands on Wednesday night.

The Three Lions have not sparkled at Euro 2024 so far but have managed to turn up in the crucial moments to put themselves within two wins of glory ahead of tonight's clash in Dortmund.

Despite enjoying a free-scoring debut season at Bayern Munich last term, England captain Kane has not played his best football either since arriving in Germany, scoring just twice in five matches.

Manchester United legend Keane believes the forward, who injured his back a few weeks before England's tournament opener against Serbia, is 'obviously' still in pain.

'He has obviously got some knock because he doesn't look his sharpest,' the former Republic of Ireland captain said.

Keane urged that Southgate was right to keep faith in the 30-year-old however, insisting Kane is always a goal threat when he plays.

'I think he could score still,' he added. 'Gareth can't leave him out.'

Fellow pundit Ian Wright, agreeing with Keane about Kane's fitness, added: 'Is he carrying something? The way he is trying to move in the box you ask yourself, is he right? He doesn't seem as sharp.

'What you want to see at the other end is drive and energy. I feel like he must have some sort of knock.'

Gary Neville agreed and said: 'His influence on the squad is massive, it was the same with (David) Beckham and (Wayne) Rooney. It wouldn't surprise me he's carrying an injury.
