England will face Spain in Sunday's Euro 2024 final and some Spanish stars will be looking to exact revenge on one Three Lions man.

Gareth Southgate's men beat Netherlands 2-1 in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night to set up a meeting with the tournament's standout side in Berlin.

And it will see a reunion between Cole Palmer and the nation he infuriated last summer.

England and Spain met in the final of the Under-21 European Championship with the Three Lions triumphing 1-0.

The only goal of the game came from a Palmer free-kick deflected into the net by his team-mate Curtis Jones.

The then Man City man proceeded to make gestures at the Spanish bench, leaving them incensed and sparking a brawel.

There were more unsavory scenes as James Trafford saved an injury time penalty kick with Palmer and other England players directing their celebrations towards members of the Spain team.

Palmer was publicly singled out for criticism by Spanish players after the game and was even slammed by City team-mate Sergio Gomez.

‘He didn’t want to apologise or anything like some of his other teammates,' Gomez said.

‘I don’t know, I would have celebrated it in a different way and my teammates would have done it in a different way as well.

‘They [England] have the attitude they want to have. This is not the first time something like this has happened with this team. They wanted to celebrate it like this and also after the missed penalty.’

Alex Baena is the only Spain player from that Under-21 squad at Euro 2024 and Spanish radio station Cadena COPE claim he has a 'score to settle' with Palmer.

AS report that his 'arrogant attitude' drove Spain 'crazy' and has not been forgotten

Premier League Young Player of the Season Palmer is yet to start a game at the tournament but has impressed in his role as an impact substitute.

He made his biggest contribution so far on Wednesday night, teeing up Watkins to score the winner.
