Ms. Crystal Blanchard joined West Briar as Principal in the 2024-2025 school year. Ms. Blanchard was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Ms. Blanchard holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Master’s in Education Administration from Concordia University in Austin. She began her educational career in Austin ISD as a Grant Writer for all schools. In 2005, Ms. Blanchard moved to Galena Park ISD in Houston, TX. Having twenty years experience, she has served as a Math Teacher, Instructional Specialist, Testing Coordinator, Assistant Principal and Dean of Instruction in schools across the city of Houston. 

Ms. Blanchard is a passionate and dedicated educational leader known for her ability to inspire and positively impact students, staff, and the community. With a reflective approach, she excels as a data-driven instructional leader, demonstrating exceptional skills in human resource and budget management, communication, and interpersonal relationships. As an advocate for continuous improvement, she is adept at coaching and developing staff, ensuring that every team member reaches their full potential. Her strong organizational and time management abilities complement her ethical, professional, and responsible nature. Ms. Blanchard is committed to enriching the lives of children through education. She is excited to work with the students, staff and community of West Briar MS to ensure all students are successful.
