BAIT & SWITCH

On March 14, I signed an agreement with SGT to ship my car from AZ to CO. The pick up window was May 1-3. I also paid the additional $75 to be on the upper level.

On April 30, SGT advised that my car could be picked up on May 1.... but it would cost an additional $130!! What's the point of a written agreement if the driver can change the price at the last minute???? Despite asking several times for an explanation, I was only told this was the price the driver was charging & it was "high season." But SGT knew it was "high season" when I first contacted them. I canceled the transport.

SGT then called back to negotiate with me, by offering to ship my car for the full price but the car would be on the lower level instead of the upper level which I had paid for.

THIS IS BAIT & SWITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delivery was fine

Delivery was fine. Communication was lacking. I asked carrier for a status update re delivery when we were close to delivery date. No response. No call back. Did this twice and never a call back letting me know if we were on schedule or not. Very bad

I’ve used SGT now a couple of times

I’ve used SGT now a couple of times. Both long transports and both times I’ve been very satisfied. They seem to work with the best carriers and the price is always very competitive. Highly recommended.

This transport company has no insurance. Watch out

We used SGT auto transport for transporting our car. The company claims effortless transportation and having insurance in case the car is damaged. The claim for insurance is also boldly listed and described on their website.

But the above is completely fraudulent and a scam misleading thousands of consumers. The insurance is not carried by these companies even though they advertise it that way. And there is no way to verify that the carrier they subcontract with carries any valid insurance.

Our car was damaged while being transported under a contract with SGT Auto transport. When we contacted the company, they sent us an insurance certificate for the trucking company. The insurance company said that the certificate was not valid.

In essence, the consumer is being led on a wild ride with the assumption that SGT has insurance - but in reality if the car is damaged, the consumer is on their own. And when you contact their customer service for help, they will simply send you an invalid insurance certificate and its the consumers responsibility and countless hours of time to file a claim.

All good!

As long as you understand that your car pick up and drop off is a window of time the experience working with SGT is very good. They do try to accommodate you as best as they can. When we had to change the name of the person picking up the car the person I spoke to, Antonio, I believe, was extremely helpful and made the process simple. The driver we were assigned was amazing, kind, respectful and our car was delivered in great condition.

STG AUTO TRANSPORT damaged my car...

UPDATE: STG AUTO TRANSPORT is conveniently hiding behind obscure terms to avoid any responsibility. STG AUTO TRANSPORT contracted with this carrier to transport, but now does not want to assist in resolving the issue. Convenient scam business model. We arrange shipping and take a broker's fee,but if your car is damaged it is your responsibility. We got our money. STG AUTO TRANSPORT could not care less if your car is damaged. DO NOT USE THIS BROKER.

UPDATE: STG is still avoiding the damages they caused to mxmy vehicle. Do not use STG.


UPDATE: STG is aware of this incident and the reference number. I have emails to contradict their response below. Why can companies not accept responsibility for their mistakes and do the right thing? I have spoken to my insurance company who will repair my car with a deductible and sue STG'S insurance company to recoup damages.


I arranged for STG Auto Transport to provide transportation or a carrier they endorsed to transport my car from Alabama to California. Upon receiving the car, there were three scratches to the metal that were caused by the carrier. STG provided me with a diagram of noted issues and these scratches into the metal were not noted because the carrier caused the damage. The company is failing to respond to my request for repairs due to their negligence. Please do not use STG Auto Transport.

The Carrier is responsible for adjusting, paying, declining, or otherwise resolving freight claims.

Sentimental journey for a '69 MGB

I was concerned about shipping my 1969 MGB across the country. So many memories wrapped up in that ole gal! However, I found that not only did SGT share the process involved in transport but provided peace of mind that my old car would be in good hands. The carrier made contact with me and updated me as he was coming to my home. He did everything he said and ensured safe passage for my old car! It arrived in excellent condition.

After a hassle with another company…

After a hassle with another company that I had made a reservation with 2months in advance, I was able to call SGT and get an at home pickup and a prompt as promised delivery. I was informed about the delivery along the route and the driver was courteous and efficient. I would definitely use this service again.

Transported Car with Care

Communication went well. My car left Denver and arrived in Syracuse in 3 days with out a scratch. Anthony, our driver took time to talk to us at pick up and managed delivery well. Pricing was great!

quote was not honored

This company gave me a quote and then called me and said it was peak season and needed to raise the price by $600, I thought they should stand by their quote and I was willing to wait until a transporter was available but they wouldn't agree to that, bad customer service.

Very smooth no hiccups

Very smooth no hiccups. Was very skeptical because this was my first time shipping a car. But their chat was very helpful whenever I had questions about my order. Driver was nice too. They delivered in a week from CT to CA.

Happy frequent customer!

The vehicle was picked up very close to on time at my front door. The driver examined it for any flaws and left a report of his findings. My car was delivered on time, and he sent several photos so I could confirm that all was well.

SGT Transport shipped my new Porsche
