How Ollie Watkins, Jordan Pickford and John Stones's partners celebrated in style after England's win in the Euro 2024 semi final

  • The wives, partners and family members of Southgate's squad celebrated in Dortmund

The families and partners of England's Three Lions were jubilant last night after Southgate's squad secured their place in the Euro 2024 final.

The loved ones of Kobbie Mainoo, John Stones, Bukayo Saka and Luke Shaw, to name a few, were among the smiling faces at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund where England beat the Netherlands in a nail-biting semi final which saw the teams at 1-1 until Ollie Watkins' goal in the 89th minute.

As a chorus of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline erupted from the stands, the families of England's stars were certainly in the mood to celebrate - and they danced the night away as England's men's team officially made it into their first tournament final not on home soil.

Celebrations ranged from muted and demure to full-blown ecstasy as it dawned on fans that they had once again made the Euros final.

Super-sub Watkins, who came on to replace captain Harry Kane - who himself had brought England level with a penalty in the first-half to cancel out Xavi Simons' wonder strike - touchingly shared the moment with his mother and girlfriend.

After the match, Ellie Alderson posted a sweet photo of herself and England's hero, proudly writing: 'You got your moment and you took it!!!!! I am soooo proud of you.'

She also shared a professional shot of her boyfriend's ecstatic face as he jubilantly celebrated his winning goal - and wrote: 'This might be my favourite photo ever' before later adding: 'You deserve it' in another story.

Elsewhere, John Stones's wife Olivia Naylor echoed the pride in her partner as, when the whistle was blown, she took video clips of the players celebrating - and zoomed in on her defender husband.

The camera followed him around as he ran across the pitch in his number 5 shirt - which she was also wearing a replica of in the stands.

And, to compound the celebration into an extra special occasion, Olivia stood with her arm around her husband at midnight when the crowd sang Happy Birthday to her.

Meghan Pickford, the wife of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, filmed the celebratory crowd in the stadium at the end of the match and wrote: 'What a night'.

She was also spotted planting a passionate smooch on her husband after he made some killer saves that kept England in the tournament despite a hungry Dutch side.

A more muted celebration came from Annie Kilner, who was spotted sipping from a cup in the stands as ecstatic fans around her belted out Sweet Caroline.

It comes amid a difficult time for the couple - after it was revealed earlier this year that Kyle had fathered a second child with influencer Lauryn Goodman.

The WAG has been present at every England match so far, however she has apparently vowed 'not to play happy families' with her husband in Germany.

The mother of four instead opted for £35,000 return flights on a private plane, to jet in for each game rather than staying in the country for the duration.

However despite not showing an ecstatic reaction to the win, Annie still beamed and swayed along to the celebratory song.

Kobbie Mainoo's family also got in on the celebrations, with his brother Jordan donning a number 27 shirt and celebrating with other family members in the stands.

Jordan also revealed a screenshot of a WhatsApp message he had sent to a friend, which read: 'I'd get Watkins on' - before the very man of the hour was subbed onto the pitch and scored the winner for England.

The jubilation came after a washout for England fans and the players' loved ones - after many were caught in a torrential downpour on the way to the stadium.

Bukayo Saka's girlfriend Tolami Benson shared a snap of her spectating partner on the way into the stadium and joked: 'Three hours getting ready... then the rain.'

The Three Lions will now take on Spain in the Euro 2024 Final in Berlin on Sunday as England fans hope and pray it will come home.
