Jeremy Renner appears to hint at his return to acting by reposting a photo from his Mayor Of Kingstown co-star Emma Laird

Jeremy Renner appeared to hint at his return to acting by reposting a photo on his Instagram Story on Thursday.

The 52-year-old performer - who is currently preparing for the release of his debut album -  appears to be working on the next season of Mayor of Kingstown.

He sparked a buzz by sharing a photo originally posted by Emma Laird, his co-star on Mayor Of Kingstown.

The actor's castmate also wrote a short message that read 'it's happening,' and she added a note to let her followers know that she would be 'back with my favourite guy next week.'

Renner has starred as Mike McLusky in Mayor Of Kingstown ever since the show premiered on the Paramount+ streaming service in November of 2021.

The program is centered on the unofficial head of a company town where the main form of business is the management of prisons.

In addition to Renner and Laird, Mayor Of Kingstown stars performers such as Dianne Wiest, Taylor Handley and Kyle Chandler, as well as Hugh Dillon, who co-created the program alongside Taylor Sheridan.

The first season of the program ran for a total of ten episodes, and the show's second run, which premiered this past January, also lasted for ten installments.

The program has received mixed to negative reviews from critics, although it has become a hit with audiences.

According to TVLine, Mayor Of Kingstown was renewed for a third season this past September. 

The premiere date for the program's third set of episodes has not been revealed publicly as of yet.

Renner has been taking a break from his acting career in order to recuperate from injuries he sustained in a snowplow accident that took place this past January.

The performer was spending time with his family at his residence in the Reno, Nevada area when he was run over by a snowplow after pushing his nephew out of the vehicle's way.

The actor was listed as having been in critical condition after being airlifted to a hospital, although he eventually stabilized under medical care.

Renner suffered numerous injuries in the accident, and over 30 of his bones were broken after being run over.

The Hawkeye star has since shared several photos and videos on his Instagram account to document his recovery process.

The actor spoke to ABC News earlier this year and told Diane Sawyer that he had 'lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience.' 

However, the actor expressed that he had 'been refueled and refilled with love and titanium' in the months since the incident.
