Meghan Trainor recalls having a miscarriage scare during second pregnancy and 'gushing blood' during an interview with Ryan Seacrest

Meghan Trainor's pathway to motherhood a second time was pretty scary at first.

The singer, 30, who went back to work one week after delivering her second child by C-section, said she feared she had miscarried early in her pregnancy.

In an appearance on Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals on Thursday, the Grammy winner revealed what happened for the first time.

The All About the Beat singer said she had gotten a Covid vaccine and started to feel poorly, but thought it was just a reaction to the shot.

The artist was getting ready to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, when she thought she had her period.

'I performed on Fallon, I performed Made You Look on Fallon and I did a TikTok like, "Ugh, when you get your period during sound check," but it turns out, in fact, I was conceiving a child.'

The hitmaker clarified that she and husband Daryl Sabara, 31, did not have sex at the Tonight Show studio, and when she experienced flu-like symptoms the week after the performance she discovered she was pregnant.

'I took a pregnancy test and it lit up so fast,' she said. 'I was so pregnant.'

'And then, that morning I was so stoked, beaming with joy, I videotaped it. I did interviews and they were like, "How are you?" And I said, "I'm thriving," like, I was so happy.'

But something frightening happened toward the end of the day.

'Right before my last interview, I look down and I am gushing blood."

Trainor said the flow was so strong she 'ruined a chair.'

'And then they go "Ryan Seacrest is on. Go," and I go, "Oh my God. Hey Ryan." He was like, "How are you doing?"  And I was like "thriving," you know? "Never been so happy."

Trainor said the one thought going through her mind during the interview was 'don't cry, don't cry.'

When the virtual interview with Seacrest was over, she said she 'shut the computer, and was like, "Hey team, I think I'm miscarrying right now."

In dealing with what she thought was a certain loss, the Mother artist said to herself, 'I had a baby this morning, and now, they're gone,' but some hope remained.

'I was like, "I'm going to keep testing," and the pregnancy stick still said positive... and then I got a blood test done and... the number is zero if you're not pregnant and my number was 90,000, and I was like, "it's twins and they have implanted in me so aggressively that that's what the bleeding was."'

When Trainor went in for what she thought was her six week scan, the results were very different.

She said the doctor 'went in' and said 'Whoa, that's a 10-week old baby.'
