Selena Gomez reveals she will appear in first episode of Wizards of Waverly Place reboot - as actress chats about revisiting breakthrough role and serving as executive producer

Selena Gomez revealed that she will be in the first episode of the upcoming sequel to Wizards Of Waverly Place on Wednesday during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC.
The 31-year-old actress while looking gorgeous in a long black dress with sheer panels and white trim and Simon G Jewelry reunited with her Only Murders In The Building co-star Martin Short, 74, who was guest hosting for Jimmy, 56.
Martin noted that Selena also was an executive producer of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a reboot of Wizards Of Waverly Place, which was her first leading role on the Disney Channel.
The studio audience in Los Angeles erupted in applause and Selena clapped along with them.
'I'm so excited,' Selena said with a huge smile.

She added: 'It's basically something you know I don't know about your life, you don't know about my life. It's a show that means a lot to me.'
'I know it does. Because you started out in that show. And also you're appearing on it, too?,' Martin said.
'Yes. I will be in the first episode. I'm executive producing it. It brings me to tears because that is the beginning of where I started. And to honor it in this way has truly been a blast, and I can't wait for people to see it,' Selena said.
Selena portrayed central character Alex Russo on the Disney Channel show that aired for four seasons from 2007 to 2012 as well as in two TV movies and also sang the catchy theme song 'Everything Is Not What It Seems'.
Martin asked Selena to imagine how old he would be when they do the reboot of Only Murders In The Building in which he portrays Oliver Putnam and she plays Mabel Mora along with co-star and co-creator Steve Martin, 78, who plays Charles-Haden Savage.
'Let's solve the crime!' Martin yelled with only half his mouth as Selena closed her eyes and laughed.
'Let's do it however long you can make it,' Selena said laughing.

'This is my life every day,' Selena said.
Martin earlier during the interview asked Selena who was her favorite between him and their co-star Steve.
'I don't believe there are favorite olds,' Selena quipped. 'I love both of you for exactly who you are and where you are and what you've taught me. It's just great.'
Season four of Only Murders In The Building will premiere on August 27 on Hulu.
