Ryan Reynolds posts hilarious Taylor Swift-inspired picture from the set of Deadpool & Wolverine, reigniting rumors of a potential cameo from singer

Ryan Reynolds has reignited rumors of a potential Taylor Swift cameo in his upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine - just weeks before it hits theaters.

On Tuesday, the actor, 47, set social media ablaze when he posted a photo from the set of the superhero flick inspired by Swift's 2020 album Evermore to Instagram.

Dressed in Deadpool's iconic red supersuit with his dual samurai swords strapped to his back, Reynolds recreated the album's iconic cover art.

Like Swift, Reynolds faced away from the camera while standing in a field with bare trees in the distance.

The Canadian star — who boasts 51.5million followers — also set his Instagram post to the tune of the Grammy nominated album's title track. 

The Evermore cover art was famously captured by photographer Beth Garrabrant at a sprawling New York estate 'owned by a friend' of Swift's.

Fans have speculated that the property — where the cover art for Evermore's sister album Folklore (2020) was also shot — is owned by Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, 36.

Swift and Lively have been BFFs since 2015 - three years into Lively's marriage to Reynolds.

She is considered a core member of the multi-Grammy Award-winner's 'girl squad.'

Reynolds and Lively are parents to four children — daughters James, nine, Inez, seven, and Betty, four, and another baby born in February 2023.

Swift famously name-dropped James, Inez and Betty on her Folklore track Betty - with the song actually revealing the youngest daughter's name for the very first time.

In a 2021 SiriusXM interview, Reynolds revealed that his girls had no idea they made it into the song's lyrics until it was released.

'We surprised them with it. They didn't know,' he said, before joking: 'We don't tell them anything; we find they're most compliant if you offer them no access to outside information.'

When it comes to their fourth child's moniker — which has yet to be revealed — Reynolds joked on the TODAY show in May that it's in Swift's hands. 

'We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name is, and I'll say this: We're still waiting,' he teased, adding that Swift is a 'prolific writer.'

The couple recently attended Swift's Eras Tour concert in Madrid, Spain with all three of their girls in the audience in May.

Rumors that Swift may appear in Deadpool & Wolverine kicked off last year after she was seen hanging out with co-stars Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, 55.

In October 2023, the trio attended one of Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce's games along with Lively.

Jackman shared a now-viral selfie of himself, Swift, Reynolds and Lively posing together in their seats during the big game.

Swift and Jackman have been friends for over a decade, with the pair even celebrating Christmas Eve together in 2014.

The October 2023 outing prompted fans to speculate that Swift may either appear as Lady Deadpool or Dazzler in the long-awaited Marvel superhero sequel.

And those rumors ramped up earlier this month when the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer was released.

It featured a brief scene of a pair of legs - that appear to belong to a woman - walking through the dust and rubble. 

Many were quick to argue that the legs belonged to Swift, while others wondered if Reynold's wife Lively might make a cameo of her own in the film out July 26.

Soon after, the official IMAX Instagram uploaded a promo poster for the film that showed Deadpool and Wolverine rocking Eras Tour-inspired friendship bracelets.

The bracelets — often made of colorful beads and featuring iconic Swift lyrics or song names — became a tradition after Swift's tour kicked off in March 2023 as fans began making them and handing them out during the concerts.

The cameo speculation isn't as far fetched as it may seem as Swift actually has some significant acting experience under her belt.

She made a cameo in David O. Russell's box office bomb Amsterdam starring Margot Robbie and Christian Bale in 2022.

She also previously starred in Cats (2018), Valentine's Day (2010) with ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner and she was once a guest star on a 2009 episode of CSI.

Swift is currently tackling the European leg of her highly-successful Eras Tour.

She played her 100th Eras Tour show earlier this month in Liverpool, with the star declaring that 'the show feels new to me every time we play it.'

The billionaire called it 'the adventure of a lifetime' and thanked fans for their continued support.
