Jennifer Tilly says joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 cast was 'scarier than Chucky'

Jennifer Tilly joked that joining the season 14 cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last month was 'scarier than Chucky' - referring to her Syfy/USA Network horror series now in its third season.

'Oh my God, it's insane. It's, like, scarier than Chucky. I'll tell you that,' the 65-year-old Oscar nominee told THR's It Happened in Hollywood podcast on Tuesday.

'I'm not a Housewife. I'm a Friend, though, which is a lot easier. You just dip in and out. You try to avoid, like, flying shrapnel. And you know, if drinks are thrown, I have good reflexes.'

Jennifer - who's friends with Sutton Stracke - spent her first day of shooting the hit Bravo reality show on June 15 at a spa in Hancock Park where Dorit Kemsley and Erika Girardi attempted to calm crying Kyle Richards after she stormed off set.

Tilly (born Chan) appeared to have a better time filming scenes with Sutton at Garcelle Beauvais's beach house in Oxnard, CA on June 22.

The Family Guy actress was married to The Simpsons co-developer Sam Simon from 1984-1991, but they remained friends until his death, at age 59, in 2015 following a three-year battle with colorectal cancer.

As of 2018, Jennifer - who's been dating professional poker player Phil Laak since 2004 - was still receiving 30% of the net proceeds of the Fox animated sitcom as part of Simon's lucrative 1993 payout from co-creator Matt Groening.

Tilly was joined on the podcast by her former onscreen leading lady Gina Gershon, who was 'too scared' to be in RHOBH when they 'approached' her.

'You know what? You're gonna be genius on that,' the 62-year-old Thanksgiving actress gushed.

'You'll take over that whole set, Jen. I have no doubt. I'd actually even watch it with you on it!'

The professional poker player and Gina were promoting The Criterion Collection's new 4K edition of The Wachowskis' 1996 feature directorial debut Bound, in which they played lesbian lovers attempting to steal money from the mob.

Jennifer previously guest-starred in a 2010 episode RHOBH, and the 14th season should premiere this fall on Bravo.
