Mindy Kaling shares heartwarming album of baby Anne's first July 4th... after revealing she secretly welcomed third child in FEBRUARY

Mindy Kaling shared a heartwarming Instagram album this week showing her new baby Anne's first Independence Day.

The 45-year-old TV star shocked the world last week when she announced she had secretly given birth to Anne, her third child, in February. 

Now she has let her fans into the Glorious Fourth she celebrated with her baby and her two elder children - daughter Katherine, six, and son Spencer, three.

In one especially touching picture, Mindy could be seen smiling beatifically at the camera while cradling her infant, whose face was kept out of frame.

Little Katherine and Spencer were pictured playing with their toys in the backyard, then seen in a video as they scampered over the boulders on the beach.

Mindy also included a video that showed an aerial view of little Anne sitting comfortably on her lap as they took in the sea air together.

'A sandy/salty skin/no makeup/freezing cold perfect waves/lots of sunscreen/frosting/outside for hours kind of Independence Day,' she wrote.

She clearly made sure the holiday was full of delights for her children, including themed cupcakes with American-flag-colored icing. 

Mindy revealed she welcomed Anne in late February following a secret pregnancy in an Instagram post shared last Monday.

She announced the joyous news on her 45th birthday, June 24, calling Anne 'the best birthday present I could've ever imagined.'

'In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined. When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life,' the new mother of three posted to Instagram.

'I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!'

The post included a snap of Mindy's baby bump, along with a sweet snap of her two other children bonding with their new sibling.

The post also contained an image of Mindy sitting in the hospital bed, surrounded by her two children. 

Mindy has yet to disclose the father of her children, and told The New York Times in 2019, before her son was born: 'My feeling is that, until I speak to my daughter about that, I'm not going to talk to anyone else about it.'

However, her Office co-star, B.J. Novak, is notably godfather to Katherine and Spencer.

In August 2022, Kaling informed Entertainment Tonight, 'He's very good with children. He literally wrote a best-selling book called The Book With No Pictures for kids.'

The creator of Never Have I Ever added, 'It comes very innately to him, you know, like being with children. So he's a great godfather.'

Rumors have circulated that Novak is the father of Katherine and Spencer, which the actress has shut down.

She previously addressed the speculation during an interview with Marie Claire and revealed, 'It doesn't bother me. He's the godparent to both my kids - and they have such a great relationship.'

The Ocean's 8 actress previously opened up about her decision to become a mother during an interview with Glamour in 2019, telling the magazine: 'I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I would have put it off and put it off. I'm happy that it happened when it did.'

'I would have put it off indefinitely. I've seen firsthand the heartbreak of women who have waited to get pregnant [and then it doesn't happen].

She said her late mother Swati - who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2012 - was a huge inspiration to her, explaining: 'For me, my relationship with my mother was such an integral part of my life.

'Thinking back on our relationship is still such a huge source of my happiness day-to-day, so I'm so grateful for having Katherine.'

In 2019, Mindy talked raising Katherine as a single mother: 'I’m in a privileged position because I have help, you know, and I know that’s not the case for all American women,' she told Us Weekly.

'I’m a single mom, but I have the means to have help. … It is what it is!'

Mindy has previously surprised fans with the news of her expanding family.

In 2017, The Mindy Project star confirmed her pregnancy with Katherine after her Wrinkle In Time co-star Oprah spilled the news several months prior.

'It’s so unknown to me,' she explained to Sunday Today. 'I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and this is one where I’m like, "OK, it’s out of my hands," which is kind of a fun feeling,' she said.

She didn't announce her second pregnancy as well, and once again surprised the world when she announced she had given birth to baby number two back in 2020.  

A slew of stars congratulated Mindy after she revealed she had welcomed her third child. 

'Congratulations!!!!' Andy Cohen commented while Reese Witherspoon posted, 'Beautifully said.'

John Legend and Julianne Moore also sent their congratulations while actress Lena Waithe commented with a trio of sparkle emojis.

Octavia Spencer commented, 'Happy birthday role model queen of queening' while Tan France posted, 'Oh my gosh, Mindy, I'm so happy for you!!'
