Gershon, who has been regarded as a gay icon for her roles in movies like Bound, Prey For Rock & Roll and Showgirls, stepped out on the red carpet solo, and with her former co-star, in an elegant all-black ensemble.

Her stylish pants hugged her toned physique and flared out along the entire leg which, at times, gave off the illusion of a dress.

The matching blazer hugged her womanly curves and came down to about mid-thigh.

Sweet: The two stars had a steamy onscreen relationship in Bound; their friendship was more than apparent on the red carpet

On this night, the 56-year old star wore her dark brown tresses long past her shoulders with some extra volume and soft waves.

Like her former co-star, Tilly was all smiles under the bright lights of the event as she and Gershon gave a hint of their onscreen chemistry in Bound with their bountiful smiles and gentle touches.

The 60-year old actress commanded attention in a silver floral sequin dress that had touches of pink and green, among other colors.

She matched the shiny number with a pair of matching heels and wore her long brown tresses back into a loose ponytail with some bangs and a part in the middle.

The Wachowskis siblings wrote and directed Bound. They initially struggled to cast the lesbian characters before securing Tilly and Gershon.

Gershon played an ex-con named Corky who had just finished a five-year sentence in prison. While out on a job as a painter and plumber at an apartment building, Corky gets seduced by Tilly's character Violet who lives at the building with Caesar, played by Joe Pantoliano.

Crime thriller: In Bound, the two leading ladies hatch a scheme to steal money from the Mafia

It isn't long before Violet tells Corky that Caesar is a money launderer for the Mafia. Things then go into overdrive when Violet and Corky hatch a scheme to steal some Mafioso money.

The idea was to write a story about how one might see a woman on the street and make assumptions about her sexuality, and show how those assumptions might be wrong.

They also wanted to play with stereotypes and make an entertaining film that contained sex and violence.

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives, according to the organization's website glaad.org.

Beyonce and Jay-Z got top honors on the night when they received the Vanguard Award, which is presented to 'allies who have made significant difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people.'

The website went on to add: 'Beyoncé and Jay-Z are longtime allies and supporters of the LGBTQ community who use their global platforms to share messages that inspire and change the world for the better.'

Thumbs up: Bound received positive reviews from the critics who praised the humor and style of the directors as well as the realistic portrayal of a lesbian relationship
