Victoria Beckham pokes fun at husband David as he poses with a Manchester City shirt with his hated Dave nickname

Victoria Beckham gave her husband David an unwelcome surprise on Thursday, as she forced him to pose with a Manchester City shirt.

The former football star - who played for City's bitter rivals Manchester United - was seriously unimpressed in the hilarious snap posted to Instagram Stories.

David's unimpressed reaction in the snap proved to be a hilarious snap, as the shirt was also emblazoned with his much-hated nickname Dave.

Far from being known as an online prankster, Victoria's jibe delighted fans as she shared the snap from their recent family trip to Spain.

Hinting there were others involved, the fashion designer, 45, also tagged her son Romeo, 16, and presenter James Corden in the post.

As he reluctantly posed with the purchase, Victoria captioned her snap: 'Nice shirt Dave from Man City!' following by 'kisses' and a slew of crying laughing emojis.

David was a longtime supporter of Manchester United, and played for the club for a staggering 11 years before joining Real Madrid in 2003.

The player also made a surprise return to the club last month as a member of the 1999 Legends team, playing against Bayern Munich Legends in a charity match.

Given United's century-long rivalry with City, it's no surprise the England legend was unimpressed with his gift, especially as it also boasted his much-disliked nickname.

Victoria is of course no stranger to a playful gift, after recently giving her husband two sticks of deodorant for his 44th birthday.

David also received a tongue-in-cheek card from his children with the words: 'Dad I got you this card because it matches your hair.'

The sports icon has been enjoying a trip to Italy with son Romeo, as a surprise to celebrate the end of his GCSEs.

The Milan trip came as the rest of the Beckham clan head back to London from Sevilla, where they attended Sergio Ramos' and celebrated Father's Day.

While mum Victoria, 45, and youngest children Cruz, 14, and Harper, seven, headed home, David and Romeo toasted the end of exams for the aspiring tennis player.

Brooklyn, 20, the Beckham's eldest child, was nowhere to be seen on the family trip, choosing instead to frolic in America with girlfriend Hana Cross.
