An American woman who spent $400 on beauty products at a French pharmacy has revealed which she considers to be the best after just one week of use.

The review was shared by Los Angeles-based Maggie Sellers, who is an angel investor and the founder of Hot Smart Rich (HSR), a digital media company that aims to empower startup founders and investors.

In the clip, Sellers shared which products she was a fan of, which ones she would pass on, and which ones she wants to rebuy.

Over the past few years on social media, French beauty products have become quite the hot topic, with many claiming that they are better than the ones in the US.

According to Vogue, the French take their skin very seriously, with a 'skincare-first' approach rather than one that's makeup forward.

The first product that Sellers shared was one that she always wants to have on her beauty shelf going forward - and that is Hexomedine, which typically retails for around $28.

The product, which is an antiseptic solution, can be used to treat acne, ingrown hairs and even wounds, according to New London Pharmacy.

'I don't know what is in here, but this truly cleared up a cystic acne pimple that was forming overnight,' Sellers said.

'Always have this on my beauty shelf,' she added.

The next thing that Sellers bought was the $82 Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum Vitamin C Alternative, which was another one of her favorites.

'This, it truly is elite,' she admitted about the Caudalie serum.

'It has cleared up, brightened, and gotten rid of some just not so good spots,' the content creator continued.

However, one item she wasn't too sure of yet was the $20 Caudalie Eau de Raisin, which is a moisturizing facial spray made with grape extract.

'I'm going to try to keep giving this another chance, but I'm not sure about it, like what is this supposed to do?' she wondered.

She felt similarly about Caudalie's $62 eye cream, which she purchased in the mini size.

The entrepreneur explained that she needed more than a week to try out an eye cream to see if it was legitimate.

Sellers had rave reviews for the $18.99 Bioderma Micellar Water cleanser, as well as the $30 Caudalie Vinoclean Gentle Foaming Cleanser, both of which she says make the skin feel clean and totally erase makeup.

Moving on to hair products, Sellers highly recommended both the $24 dry shampoo and $22 detox shampoo made by the brand Klorane.

In particular, she noted that the detox shampoo got out all the grease and product in her hair after she put it in a slick-back bun.

And, when it comes to regular pharmacy products, Sellers said that she would definitely be repurchasing the $6 Marvis Whitening toothpaste.

But there were still two beauty products that Sellers bought while in Paris that she hasn't tried out yet - and that was the $29 Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré, which is a rich face cream, and the $49 Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse shimmering body oil.

The Embryolisse moisturizer is supposed to provide hydration
The Nuxe oil is a shimmering body oil

Sellers had yet to try the Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré, which is a rich face cream, or the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse shimmering body oil

She explained that she is now planning on trying the shimmering body oil on her collarbone.

In the comments section, many chimed in to share their own thoughts on the products.

'All of your reviews SO SPOT ON!!! The Caudalie spray is basically the Evian spray I agree not worth the $$,' one person wrote.

Another agreed, 'I swear the Bioderma and Caudalie in French pharmacies are a different and better formula than what they sell in the US.'

'I have that same shimmer oil and I mix it with my sunscreen in the summer so my skin is protected but also has a little glow!' someone else suggested.

A user shared, 'The Caudalie grapewater is more like a hydration mist I use it on the plane, during the summer etc its really good and has antioxidants.'
