This is the moment police board a Ryanair flight to remove three 'drunk' holidaymakers after the pilot turned the plane around and flew back to Edinburgh.

In the dramatic footage, an officer can be seen asking the sheepish-looking men to identify their hand luggage after the early end to flight RK5593 before taking it out of the overhead holders.

The flight was supposed to reach Lanzarote just before 7pm local time yesterday but ended up turning around back to its starting point when it was over South Ayrshire.

A passenger on board the holiday plane told respected daily La Voz de Lanzarote, which published the footage: 'We were supposed to leave at 2.15pm but took off an hour and a half late.

'It was obvious before we left that one of them who was next to me was drunk.

'He stank of alcohol and was vaping without any qualms.

'After the plane took off they started shouting stuff in English and got out a bottle of vodka that was almost empty before an air stewardess took it and the e-cigarette off them.'

In February two thugs were filmed brawling and spitting at each other onboard a Ryanair flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife.

The distressing scenes eventually came to an end after the plane landed in Tenerife and the disruptive passengers were escorted away by local police.
