A married female teacher has been charged with sexual assault over claims she had sexual relations with a student in New Jersey.

Julie Rizzitello, 36, is accused of engaging in 'various sexual acts' with the student on 'multiple occasions and in at least three jurisdictions — Belmar, Brick, and Wall' over the course of the year.

Rizzitello, who tied the knot with her husband in 2017, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of criminal sexual contact and one count of witness tampering.

Rizzitello resigned from her role at Wall Township High School earlier this week following the allegations.

The former English teacher is currently in Monmouth County Correctional Institution where she is waiting for a detention hearing.

She also served as an advisor for several clubs in the area. It is not clear if the victim was a student or a member of the club.

She is waiting for a court date at Monmouth County Superior Court where she will face the charges.

It comes after a special education teacher in New Jersey who describes herself online as a 'passionate' educator was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting one of her students.

Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 43, a special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School in New Jersey, was taken into custody, prosecutors announced on June 29.

Her arrest came after an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Freehold Police Department revealed she allegedly began sexually abusing a student earlier this year.

It is unclear how many times she allegedly sexually assaulted the student or how old the student may have been, though the intermediate school only teaches students from sixth to eighth grade.

Havemann-Niedrach is now facing one count each of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree child welfare endangerment, and was seen smiling in her mugshot.
