Many women would be mortified if one of their shoes fell off in public, but it's a common mishap.

Several members of the Royal Family have faced similar situations when their stilettos got caught in grass or grates during official engagements.

Earlier this month, Carole Middleton found herself in such a predicament at Royal Ascot, before Prince William came to her rescue.

And there have been other instances like this, involving the likes of Catherine, Princess of Wales and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
