Jennifer Lopez's mom Guadalupe Rodríguez is urging her daughter to leave Ben Affleck over fears the singer is losing sight of herself, according to insiders who claim her family believe she deserves better than a man who has decided to 'throw in the towel' instead of fighting to save their relationship.

The On The Floor singer, 54, and the double Oscar winner, 51, have been plagued for months by reports their two year marriage is in crisis, with pictures of them without their wedding rings and living in separate homes further fueling speculation they are on the verge of divorce.

Now Lopez's mom, 78, is said to be firmly encouraging her daughter to 'cut her losses' and file for divorce so that she can focus on her career and her children - 16-year-old twins Emme and Max.

'Jennifer's mom told her, "Cut your losses and move on to avoid getting any deeper in this mess",' an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. 

'She told her that she's wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor.

'He was not the person she built him up to be. It's taken too much of a toll on her and because of this she has lost sight of who she is and what she stands for.'

The source said Lopez's sisters Leslie Ann and Lynda share their mom's concerns and fear the singer and actress has lost perspective on what her marriage has become.

'Jennifer currently feels like Ben does not deserve her and her sisters agree,' they continued.

'They want Jennifer to be happy, of course, but they feel their sister is getting so caught up in what it was supposed to be that she isn't seeing it for what it is now.

'They want her to file for divorce first and get on with her life – focus on her kids and career.'

The source finished: 'It's upsetting to her family and Jennifer that Ben cannot see there is a woman who is loved by millions that will love him eternally – but he would rather throw in the towel than actually just try to fix things.'

The claims mark a significant U-turn by Lopez's mom who last year revealed on national television that she 'prayed' for two decades for her daughter to reconcile with the Gone Girl actor.

Speaking to Savannah Guthrie on the Today show, she said: 'I knew that they would always get back together because I prayed for 20 years.'

At the time, Lopez was stunned by her mother's comments, and told Entertainment Tonight: 'It's so funny, she never said that to me. We never spoke about it.

'She really loved him when we were together before.'

The A-list couple were famously engaged in the early 2000s before breaking up, only to reunite in 2021, and later marry, in July 2022.

They were inseparable after their highly publicized reunion, but in recent months the pair have gone weeks without being spotted together. 

They were last pictured together in public on June 2 when they shared an awkward kiss on the cheek at Affleck's son Samuel's basketball game in Los Angeles.

They were later in attendance at the 12 year old's graduation event and subsequent party at Affleck's current home in Brentwood, California on June 12, but they were pictured separately.

The reportedly estranged couple are no longer living together, with insiders claiming that Affleck moved his belongings out of their marital home when Lopez was on holiday last month

The actor has been living in the $100,000 a month rental located near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, while Lopez is living at the $60 million Bel Air mansion they bought last year.

On July 1, Affleck was photographed arriving at his office in Beverly Hills with luggage.

The pictures came after it had been reported that he 'moved his things out' of their home while Lopez was enjoying a solo trip to Italy before later jetting to France for Paris Fashion Week.

Their current situation has also proved difficult for Garner, who reportedly made a conscious decision to step back from the 'circus' surrounding her ex and his marital woes as the ongoing situation has unearthed 'painful' memories for the actress.

Affleck's ex-wife Jennifer Garner had been helping the pair to 'fix' their marriage but recently decided it is time to step back from the 'circus' around them, insiders said this week  

'Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, "Sorry, figure this out yourself,"' an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively this week.

'It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce.'

The source added: 'Jen opened up her home and her life to JLo because she had moved on from the past. She cares about JLo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them.

'But in the end, it is not Jen's circus, not Jen's monkeys and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife.'

Insiders had previously revealed how the Elektra actress had been playing 'counselor' to the pair in an attempt to help them fix their alleged issues.

As well as Samuel, Garner also shares Violet, 18, and Fin, 15, with Affleck. She was married to the actor from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.
