3/10
Borderlands (2024) Austin Burke It lacks any sense of direction and barely has fun with its semi-interesting premise. I’m appreciative of certain cast-members who are having a good time, but the rest is a bland mixture of everything wrong with these types of blockbusters.

Trap (2024) Austin Burke This simple premise is executed in an off-putting way, yet Shyamalan handles it with care, and Josh Hartnett seems to be having the time of his life. As ridiculous as some of it was, it had my attention.

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) Austin Burke Deadpool & Wolverine will reinvigorate this franchise, as it injects the glorious madness of our merc with a mouth in the best (and most self-aware) way... Those who show up for the dynamic between our title characters will get an insane amount of payoff.

Kinds of Kindness (2024) Austin Burke The pulse-pounding score, reoccurring motifs, and series of fantastic performances will satisfy many Yorgos Lanthimos fans. The issues lie within the writing and failure to create unique ideas that will resonate.

7/10
The Imaginary (2023) Austin Burke Some of its more mature themes may go over kids heads, and the pacing isn’t perfect, but the gorgeous visuals and fun characters will engage those who think this is their cup of tea. The animation is truly sunning.

MaXXXine (2024) Austin Burke This is one of the best looking horror movies in years... It is less scary and more intriguing, as this mystery is engrossing through the first two acts.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (2024) Austin Burke While this sequel struggles to tell a compelling overall story, there is plenty present that will pull fans into this world once more... The action is solid, and the score is full of retro goodness.

A Family Affair (2024) Austin Burke The missing ingredient is the chemistry between the main couple. Not only is their relationship poorly written, but there is no reason to root for them. Joey King is the MVP here.

Kill (2023) Austin Burke Kill is a non-stop rush of adrenaline that provides some of the coolest fight sequences of the decade. The mid-movie title card drop is a contender for moment of the year.

8/10
Longlegs (2024) Austin Burke The standout element is the atmosphere. Oz Perkins has some fun with the look and feel of it all. There is a consistent feeling of angst throughout, as it delivers an interesting and twisted crime thriller.

Fly Me to the Moon (2024) Austin Burke It is perfectly okay and surprisingly pleasant. There is something about this smooth storytelling and these two charming leads that makes for a breezy watch.

7.5/10
Twisters (2024) Austin Burke Twisters delivers all of the thrills and chills audiences will be looking for on the big screen this summer. While it may not go the extra mile, the characters are much more engaging than expected, as Powell and Edgar-Jones show some excellent chemistry.

Kalki 2898 AD (2024) Austin Burke 2898 is a grand and fantastical epic that combines many familiar elements, yet there is such a distinct feeling to this experience. It was made to be seen on the biggest screen, and Prabhas is incredible.

A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) Austin Burke This entry is occasionally exciting, filled with fantastic effects, and chocked full of effective scares. The issues start with its less interesting characters. This script just doesn’t have the creativity of the first two.

Inside Out 2 (2024) Austin Burke The way they expand upon this idea as we experience Riley’s emotional development is fantastic... Pixar has once again captured the perfect amount of heart, mixed with some powerful and relatable teenage emotions.

Hit Man (2023) Austin Burke Not only is Hit Man lighthearted and often hilarious, but Linklater has a clear understanding of how to keep viewers on their toes while staying true to the genre at hand.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024) Austin Burke Ride or Die is a blast. Mike and Marcus have some interesting personal drama in this entry that continues to expand upon their relationship as well as the fantastic chemistry between the two. Adil and Bilall are perfect for this franchise.

Under Paris (2024) Austin Burke This story is just so uninteresting, but when the shark chaos is prominent in the final act, some may find entertainment.

In a Violent Nature (2024) Austin Burke This presents a unique idea and delivers some spectacularly creative kills. The camera angles and cinematography keep it somewhat fresh, but the repetitive nature of this idea feels like a bit of a chore to get through by the end.

Atlas (2024) Austin Burke Atlas fails to stand out or captivate, even with its emotional touch towards the end. This interesting concept quickly becomes generic and inevitably goes nowhere.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) Austin Burke This is the high-octane action-adventure that fans of this franchise were hoping for. It doesn’t quite have the visual grittiness of its predecessor, but the stunt work and color correction make for a spectacle. You must witness this one in theaters.

The Garfield Movie (2024) Austin Burke Kids will have a good time. The over-stuffed plot features plenty of heists and explosions, but Garfield gets lost in the madness.

I Saw the TV Glow (2024) Austin Burke The often mesmerizing visual style reflects the tone, while exploring the connection that some have with certain forms of escapism. That said, the story often feels as if it isn’t going anywhere, and it ultimately never clicks.

7.5/10
The Last Stop in Yuma County (2023) Austin Burke This is a tense and methodically-paced thriller. As simple as its premise is, the chaos that ensues when least expected makes for a surprisingly gripping experience, and these characters are built up beautifully.

Unfrosted (2024) Austin Burke Unfrosted just feels like one massive missed opportunity from start to finish. Jerry Seinfeld occasionally injects a bit of life into this stale satire, but any interesting moment is immediately followed by an unfunny gag.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) Austin Burke Kingdom is yet another magnificent sequel. While it takes a bit to get going, the payoff feels earned, and the finale is insanely entertaining. This is a visual feast for the eyes.

The Fall Guy (2024) Austin Burke Gosling and Blunt are having a blast, but the plot itself is a bit of a mess. Colt’s journey never hooked me, and the humor is inconsistent. From an action standpoint, it thrives and provides every ounce of fun expected from David Leitch.

9.5/10
Challengers (2024) Austin Burke There is so much style in every frame. Each performance is layered, with just the right amount sex appeal, while telling this true story in the most interesting way possible. It is in the conversation for movie of the year.

Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver (2024) Austin Burke It has a bit more to offer than the first in terms of action and style, but the writing remains its weakness. It lacks the urgency and depth required to deliver on any sort of payoff.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) Austin Burke Ungentlemanly Warfare features two entertaining and often hilarious performances from Cavill and Ritchson. While their characters lack much depth, they make the most of their screen-time. The film is a blast when the action is at the forefront.

Abigail (2024) Austin Burke Once Abigail gets going, it makes for a slick and gore-filled good time. It takes a handful of tired tropes and manages to flip most of them on their head, while veering into conventional territory towards the end. Alisha Weir is our MVP.

Damsel (2024) Austin Burke Damsel features an excellent lead performance from Millie Bobby Brown and a few entertaining sequences in the third act, but it is unable to overcome bland and familiar execution.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024) Austin Burke Fans will have some fun, but there are too many subplots for this story to thrive as intended. It spreads itself so thin, and the lack of focus is distracting.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) Austin Burke This is a massive Saturday morning cartoon, featuring big monster battles, exciting team-ups, and plenty of epic moments. That being said, the plot lacks cohesion, and most of the main human subplot is messy.
