    Special Olympics uses sport to open hearts and minds towards people with intellectual disabilities and create inclusive communities. As a nationally certified swim coach and mission staff, I served on Team Canada (2010–11), Team British Columbia (2006, 2008, 2010, 2014), and local teams (2003–14). More recently, I “Coached the Coaches” at training camps and via webinars (to 2021).

  • "The Future of PR/Comms and Their Social Impact" - study by Drs. Ana Adi and Thomas Stoeckle

    The PRCA University Advisory Group and Quadriga University of Applied Sciences produced a global report based on a comprehensive study engaging over 600 participants from 23 countries and collected data in English, Spanish, and Turkish.     The PRCA University Advisory Group and Quadriga University of Applied Sciences produced a global report based on a comprehensive study engaging over 600 participants from 23 countries and collected data in English, Spanish, and Turkish.     Since the release of the original paper "Strategic Alignment: How communicators can change the face of leadership," we’ve experienced disruption on a scale never seen before. How has this impacted alignment and communications?   • "Join a communi-hack: Case studies on crisis communications, diversity, and ethics" - IABC World Conference Workshop, by Heather Young and Christine Gillies

    Many organizations are using hackathons to stimulate new ideas and solve problems. Yahoo!, Facebook, and Shutterstock have all run successful hackathons. In this "communications hackathon," we used interactive case studies to get up-close and in-depth with current issues. Using painless facilitation techniques, we pushed thinking forward and experienced collaborative planning in action that made the most of the participants' diverse backgrounds and skills.
