'Loving William in his statesman era': Fans praise Prince of Wales as he steps up royal duties amid King Charles' cancer treatment

Prince William is 'entering his statesman era' according to a legion of royal fans on social media.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), admirers of the Prince of Wales commented on how the royal has been performing on the world stage recently.

William, 41, has been more in the spotlight than ever while his father King Charles, 75, receives cancer treatment.

Last week, he represented Great Britain during an international commemorative ceremony at Omaha Beach marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, standing alongside other royals as well as world leaders, which prompted some to refer to him as a statesman.

The swooning comments from royal fans were further fuelled on Tuesday when the Prince and Princess of Wales's X account shared a snap of him travelling to Cardiff by train.

'Last year he made a surprise visit to British troops on the border with Ukraine. He also made a plea for a permanent peace in Gaza in February.'

He added that the Prince is a 'fine public speaker', and praised the speech William gave during the official Canadian celebrations of the 80th anniversary of D-Day last week.

Fitzwilliams described the address as 'superb'.
