Bonjour Vogue, it's Colette Kanza.

And today I'm gonna take you with me

through my hydrated skincare routine

with a classic French makeup, let's go.

I'm about to use the cleanser of Fenty Skin.

I wanna put it just right here.

[gentle music]

I'm gonna use a mask. I really love to do my skin care.

It's like a me moment for myself. It's time to relax, ooh.

[gentle music]

Okay, so right now,

we're gonna use the Fenty Skin Fat Water.

I put just a little bit of this.

And generally, I have like good skin. Thank you, Mom.

Next step, we're gonna use Givenchy

Vitamin Blend Glow Serum.

Some people use just one pump.

I'm extra. I always put two.

I live in Paris and I'm using this product

because it's winter and me, my skin in winter is so dry,

so I really have to hydrate

and make sure that my skin looks good.

Mineral SPF 30, moisturizer.

So it's like... Girl.

Everything's on so you don't need to use any primer.

RiRi, I'm right here. I am ready whenever you are. Text me.

This is also Fenty Skin. It's the Plush Puddin'.

You can also use it before you go to sleep.

So when you wake up, your lips are not that dry.

Now I'm ready to do my French girl makeup routine.

I'm gonna use my foundation, which is Fenty in shade 415.

I'm gonna put it right here.

I applied for open costing

in like the beginning of 2023.

And I'm so blessed because Vogue announced in September

that I am one of the eight finalists,

which I'm very, very grateful for.

I cannot wait to do like my first runway show

as a curvy model because, you know,

before like when I was young, I was really like insecure.

I did not feel like I had the beauty standards

because if you looked on TV

and all the bigger things,

I wouldn't see a girl that looks like me.

So I never saw myself in that way.

And right now, I'm gonna use my Two Faced Concealer.

I really like this concealer

because it's very like covering

if you want to have like a full makeup look.

[gentle music]

Being a model is not just being pretty.

You have to have the skills. You have to be disciplined.

You have to wake up. You have to make sacrifices.

Because right now, honestly, I've been working

and I'm missing a lot of things

like hanging out with friends, birthdays.

Because being a model requires your full attention.

You have to be like secure in yourself.

[gentle music]

I was born and raised in the Netherlands

and my parents are from Congo in Africa,

so I got Congolese roots.

Then I decided to move to Paris to a bigger city

because bigger opportunities, it's a fashion city.

I had to go. Next step, hopefully I'm going to New York.

I've been chosen for a reason.

Now it's time to show the world why I was chosen.

I will use my Laura Mercier Setting Loose Powder

in Medium Deep.

So for the dark-skinned Bettys, Medium Deep it is.

I am Congolese and we do speak French.

But when I grew up in the Netherlands,

I only knew [speaking French]. That's it.

So when I came here, my French was very limited.

Like I felt like a tourist.

Step by step, it became better

and now I speak fluently French.

I'm gonna use my bronze, Mocha Mami.

I'm gonna tell you secret in Dutch, guys.

[speaking Dutch]

If you know, you know.

I'm going to use my blush from MAC Cosmetics.

It has a little bit of glitter as you can see.

Look at this guys. Mm, do you see it? Do you see it?

Okay, sprinkle, sprinkle.

French girl makeup is really like red lipstick.

They will put like maybe just concealer,

a little bit of blush, mascara, and lipstick.

Yeah, it's very simple.

I will use MAC and this is the Gold Deposit.

It's like a highlighter as well.

[gentle music]

I am gonna do eyeliner,

but I'm not gonna do a full eyeliner.

I will only put it on the end. Silence.

[gentle music]

Can we just admire the wing and highlight, okay?

So my next step, we are gonna use mascara.

Givenchy Disturbia.

You know, there are some models that I really like.

Iman Hammam, she is just joyful. I don't know.

Every time when she walks, it's just like,

Damn, girl. She got it. She's so stunning.

I really like, you know, the dark-skinned girl, Anok

Attitude, everything. I love it.

And do not forget, of course, Precious Lee. She is gorgeous.

And let's now end with, you know, Paloma, you know?

Oh man, I was too excited about doing my makeup.

So what you gonna do? You don't even see it.

We gonna do it like this. Whatever.

I still look cute anyway.

I love me a red lipstick.

One thing about me, I love red.

Okay, it's either nude or red.

This is magic for the lips.

[gentle music]

Look at this. You can't tell me nothing.

We are gonna use Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray.

I think I should add some earrings.

[gentle music]

My look is complete.

Classic French girl makeup ala Colette.

Thank you for watching. See you next time.
