Hi, I am Jen, Jennifer Garner. [laughs]

I'm gonna take you through my beauty secrets right now.

First of all, favorite ponytail holder.

I have a little bit of makeup on.

I'm really into this pre-cleanse balm.

Do you like this mascara coming off?

That's cute.

I had like, you know, hormonal acne when I was younger,

and so I got super into skincare.

Now, while this is on, I'm gonna do boop, boop, boop,

Neutrogena Hydro Boost.

It's hyaluronic acid.

Alright, taken care of.

This is Your Favorite Ex exfoliating pad.

It's a good one.

I happen to know about hyaluronic acid

because I've been buddies with all of these chemists

for all these years,

and the thing about it is it brings and locks

moisture at the surface of your skin.

So it adds like a layer of poof.

This is Biologique.

You've gotta take the under eye and the neck seriously.

Very.

I need a little cream.

Sometimes I get really into the whole routine of it

and I just really enjoy taking care of myself,

but pretty much I'm getting it done as quickly as possible.

Any kind of skincare, any kind of self-care, it's like...

[imitates gun shot]

It just has to happen because you can't get fancy about it.

Sometimes you just need to get ready or go to bed.

You always have to do sunscreen, it doesn't matter.

I'm sorry, but you must.

You gotta layer that SPF on.

See right here?

I wasn't serious about SPF when I was younger.

Nothing looks better in your fifties

than sunscreen in your twenties, ladies,

you heard it here first.

That's enough on the skin.

It's fine, look, I glow.

This is my favorite thing that I have.

I have a couple of them, that is how serious I am.

Like if I use it up, I get another one.

And that's Westman Atelier's foundation stick.

And I just use it wherever you see a little rediness.

I am not a doing-my-own-makeup kind of gal.

This is as good as it gets.

Really the biggest thing that happened was

during the pandemic, we all had to do

our own makeup for press.

So I would do Zooms with Adir Abergel. [laughs]

Who has been my hairstylist

and is like one of my besties forever.

And then Kara Yoshimoto.

And we would do it together

and they would be laughing at me so hard,

'cause I would have no idea what was going on.

But I figured it out and it actually did change

what I know about makeup forever.

For example, I now know the importance of a bronzer.

Chanel.

I do a little of this and then I put a little on my hand,

so it's all mushed in.

You gotta do the neck, you don't wanna look like a Popsicle.

Ooh, look who's coming to life!

Let's do some blush.

Stila.

I mean, I'm not even sure if they make these anymore,

but it's an oldie and a goodie.

This is peone, but I like all the colors.

I think blush is supposed to go under

the end of your eye here.

I'm liberal with blush 'cause why not?

It's my face, party if I want.

I really like my friend Chanel,

especially this eyebrow situation.

We're close friends.

This is something that I feel embarrassed

to be seen without my eyebrows done.

That is a thing that has changed in my life.

I used to have a lot of brows, I don't so much anymore.

I gotta help 'em out a little.

All I care about my kids doing is that

they wash their face at night and that they wear SPF.

Other than that, it's their business.

If they want serums and kids don't really need it,

but they're all into it right now, so good for them.

This is if I'm feeling dressy

and I'm feeling dressy for Vogue, so I'll do.

This eyelash curler is my favorite.

It's called Surratt and I bought it

on this website that I love

for interesting, cool makeup.

Reed Clarke, another Westman thing.

I just made a movie called 'Family Switch' where

I have to trade places with my teenage daughter.

The makeup was a very big part of that.

We piled it on, we added sparkly stuff.

We added a lot of blush, a lot of color,

and a lot of eyeliner, just like a kid having fun.

Okay, this is my indulgence. [laughs]

I really like an Hermès lipstick.

I know. [laughs]

Don't tell my mom.

This one is rose boise.

And what you should do if you're getting serious

is blot it and then reapply.

It just saturates the color so it'll stay a little better.

If I'm getting fancy, I'll do a liquid liner.

And you do mascara first, I learned.

And then that tells you where the liquid liner should go.

Let's do a little perfume.

This is like, so it's like everyone wears it,

but I've worn it forever, Gypsy Water.

And I went to the Met Ball exactly one time.

I found it a little scary, so I haven't been back,

but I wore that night this magical red Valentino gown

and I was his date and that was really like

majestic and special.

For hair, I use the same two things when my hair is wet

as I do when it's dry.

I'm a Virtue girly.

Like that, and then this healing oil, it'll heal your hair.

Duh, I mean it's literally the name.

It'll make you smell like a little angel.

It's great when your hair is damp and when it's dry

to seal the ends, take care of fly-aways.

You can't really screw it up.

I think it's always important to use something at the end

to take a little bit of your makeup back off or to blend it.

My advice for moving through the world with confidence.

If you want to have self-esteem, do esteemable things.

Focus out more than in.

Focus on what you're doing for other people.

Hold the door, just be helpful to your friends.

Show up, say, What can I do?

You look busy, let me,

I'll get these dishes while you do whatever.

Or I'll do that.

And it's a small, it's just small esteemable acts

that tell yourself that you are worthy of your own esteem

and then it'll start to radiate out.

This is my final look. [laughs]

You have now witnessed my beauty secrets, such as they are.

Thanks for being here with me, have a great day.
