[upbeat music]

Hi, Vogue.

What's up?

I'm Kim Petras,

and today I'm gonna be walking you through,

my skincare routine,

makeup routine,

what I usually use in a day.

A lot of the times,

my glam is just a sunglass,

and then I'm out the door [claps].

Well, I would start off with a cleanser,

and this is kind of the best thing I've come across.

It's good for my skin.

I have super, super dry skin.

Comes with a tiny little spatula,

which is cute.

We love tiny, random objects.

Alright, cool.

Gonna wash it off [claps].

I am a huge sunscreen wearer.

I wear sunscreen every day of my life,

since I was a kid.

I'm really glad that my mom kind of like taught me that,

and got that into me,

because I used to get sunburned all the time as a kid.

This is from Supergoop!

This is called the Glow Stick.

It's SPF 50.

And I use this kind of as a base for everything.

It kind of primes,

it makes you glowy.

I have dry skin,

so anything that's glowy is my shit.

My mom is a dance teacher,

so she also taught me a lot,

about just like hydrating,

and eating healthy,

and all of those things that really help you,

with your skin,

especially through like puberty and stuff.

Like, you know,

those days are rough!

This avocado eye cream by Kiehl's,

was one of the first eye creams I think I bought,

and I just stuck with it.

I've tried a bunch of different ones,

and still this one hasn't been beaten.

I think fingers are like a great tool,

and I think with my foundation,

and concealer later on,

I kind of always go over it with my fingers in the end,

so it looks a little bit more natural.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream,

also just something that's never broken me out,

and is just like a proven classic to me, as well.

I always make sure I get up, you know,

early enough that I have enough time,

to just kind of massage my skin.

I put on like a little candle,

and make it smell nice,

and maybe put on a playlist,

and just do skincare.

Makeup for me,

it has always kind of been a ritual,

and you know, for my mom too.

With my sisters as well.

I think we just all have our own little beauty rituals,

that set us up for the day.

So this thing is very trippy.

It's by MDNA Skin,

and obviously, Madonna knows what she's doing,

'cause she looks amazing.

It just feels like it like snatches your skin in.

After I drink,

I get really puffy in my face.

Sometimes, I will just like watch TV,

or listen to music,

and kind of do this for like hours.

Next step is lip balm.

This is Glow Recipe.

I use this glowy makeup serum.

It's glittery,

and it's pink,

which is the two things it takes,

to convince me to buy something.

This kind of serum is like something I would use,

on a day where I'm not doing something intense,

like performing,

but maybe do press.

This is kind of a classic for me.

It's the Dior Skin Glow.

I've been obsessed with kind of, the smell of this,

and the texture of this.

Recently, I've been going a little bit darker

with my foundation,

and then lightening it up with the concealer.

So of course, the classic,

the Beauty Blender.

I'm gonna use Fix+ by MAC,

like it's water,

because it's Vogue, so...

I've made a lot of mistakes with makeup,

and that's when I learned.

And then I see like, old pictures,

I'm like, What the hell was I thinking?

It was just so bad,

that I became determined to get better at it.

Most of my products now,

are things that I've used for years,

or if something really blows my mind,

that someone does with me if I do a music video,

or like a photo shoot.

I remember like with the first makeup item,

that I like saved my pocket money on,

and was obsessed with,

was this Dior cream eyeshadow ring.

It was back when Galliano was at Dior,

and I remember being so obsessed.

I think it's been like almost 10 years,

that I'm using this concealer,

and still love it.

I kinda just do the areas that I wanna highlight.

I just kind of let it sit,

and sink in.

I definitely get inspiration for my looks,

from life.

Kind of from real people,

from my friends,

also from movies.

I'm a huge movie fan.

Recently, I got really deep,

into Helena Bonham Carter movies,

and her makeup looks are always amazing.

My next step is contouring.

I used to kind of go a little too crazy on contouring.

Recently, I just kind of minimized it,

and don't do as much,

and I just kinda do under here,

'cause that angle is rough for anyone.

So sometimes, I go back into concealer.

I am still kind of giddy from life.

I just performed with Christina Aguilera at Pride.

It was fun,

but it was definitely like,

whenever I perform with someone who I kind of admire,

and I'm a fan of,

I just wanna make sure,

that their vision is kind of respected,

and that I fit into their show.

I always wanna learn tricks,

and I'm very interested in other artists.

I definitely have asked people like Charlie XCX,

for like makeup advice.

I think the best beauty advice in general,

is to just, you know,

highlight the things that you like about yourself.

Don't worry too much about the parts,

that you're insecure about.

I think that's definitely something I've been going through.

Just kind of like using makeup as hiding,

kind of in the beginning of my career,

and I don't do that anymore.

And ever since then,

I feel better about myself.

There it is.

Miss Chanel.

I used to really apply kind of a thick layer.

Recently, I just been kind of doing less,

like almost have it disappear on the brush,

and just kind of pat it in.

This is also an old classic.

Space Cowboy, Urban Decay.

Next up, after I'm done with the eyeshadow,

we're probably gonna put on a lash,

and I've kind of always been obsessed with strip lashes.

They come in a four-pack.

First, I curl.

Sometimes, I blow dry this thing,

and it becomes hot.

So, I recommend that.

If you really want your lashes to stay up,

heat your lash curler.

I curl them before I put them on,

because then they sit kind of on top of the curl,

and if I don't curl them,

then they'll just kind of have no foundation to sit on.

So, this is the lash,

and I usually cut off one little strand.

Right there.

I've been liking the clear glue,

even though I've used the black glue, as well.

This is a queen product.

The packaging's so good.

Charlotte Tilbury.

Just use the bronzing side of it,

and just go in.

Getting ready music is like so personal to me,

and my all-time,

most-played,

getting ready artist would be Madonna.

It's just great.

Or Lana.

I often listen to Lana while getting ready.

This is a cult favorite.

I kind of always need to have it.

So, as I said,

like after I put on my lashes,

I then go over it with mascara.

This is my most recent favorite.

It's Push Up Lashes by Charlotte Tilbury.

There's definitely times,

where I will go for a waterproof one,

like at Paris Hilton's wedding,

I knew I was gonna cry,

so we went waterproof.

I sang, Stars Are Blind, at Paris Hilton's wedding.

Gotta put that in here.

Biggest flex of all time.

Most of the time,

like what really kinda matters,

is just like someone like Paris,

you know, she came to like my first music video ever,

which had like no budget,

and she was just so nice to every single person,

and so professional,

and hardworking,

and I just get inspired by that,

more than kind of any advice.

Like I love being inspired by people,

and their brains,

more than I am like inspired by just beauty.

Okay, I just refilled in my brows.

I felt like they needed more.

So now I'm gonna go for the highlight,

and I'm using Charlie Tilbury's little duo.

The iconic little nose tap.

Little bit [laughs].

Oh my God, that was not iconic.

On stage and stuff,

like it all looks so glamorous,

but it's months in rehearsals,

and months of conversations about the outfit,

and the makeup,

and a lot of thought goes into it,

which I think most people don't know,

that I just spent most of my days,

just in like dance blocks,

and rehearsals,

and sweating,

and really not worrying about makeup,

to get to the point where you can, you know,

look glam on stage.

I think music kind of goes very hand in hand,

with anything visual,

and fashion,

and makeup,

and I just wanna support whatever the point of the show is,

with the makeup,

and with the look.

I don't really line my lips.

I like the little glow on the edge,

and I just kind of go with a little gloss,

and I'm done.

Gloss is probably the one thing I would bring,

if I go out for touch ups,

or if I go to any kind of event.

As a last step, Fix+.

I am addicted to the smell of this since I was a teenager.

Like, it just smells so fresh and nice.

And I keep this in my purse,

and reapply a lot,

because it just kind of reactivates,

whatever glow you got going on.

So, this is the final look.

I'm off to the studio.

Thanks for watching.

Woo! Ah!
